Dunno, there are lots of aspects to consider:
What becomes of the international trade "connections" - do they loose their foothold because the corrupt state and/or the use of money as currency are abolished?
Is it a global free society or still limited and possibly targeted with counter-revolutionary sabotage?
What about the use of resources needed to produce "clean" drugs for free use to prevent dealing?

    Living in
    Code:
the local community/collective/commune we "agreed" on a strict and rigid "no dope" rule
I'm still frustrated about the strict dissociation from people in need of help and support, but we already lost a previous little utopia because it broke under the strain after becoming kind of refuge for victims of the drug problem.
We tried hard to do everything possible to deal with the problem and it wasn't that much the
"to each according to need" part that became more than problematic - it was the disturbance of the social relations between the people involved:
Dishonesty, theft, the locked doors, the distrust that broke out and the growing frustration about loosing the bond of free association between each other and achieving nothing or almost nothing.
We lived with mental and physical handicapped people and even if their "from each according to ability" wasn't that relevant because of their handicap, it was important to keep them with us as a part of the collective. Somehow they made the social bonds stronger and more community orientated, the whole bunch of punks and militants took over responsibily in previously unknown aspects, some elite-guerillas turned out to be perfect nurses too and the overall atmosphere got more relaxed and almost civilized - almost utopia.
With the addicts it was a completely different thing, no constructive side effects but growing tensions, endless debates about broken promises, thefts, trouble with the cops in the rural area, trouble and hostilities between us and our neighbors because of the prejudices following some minor incidents - finally utopia broke.
We still discuss the issue, but we never found an alternative way to deal with it.

personally I've never done more than nicotine, weed and alcohol, thanx to my marxist youth and the horrors of the london scene in the early eighties. I was on the brink of an alcohol problem some ten years ago, but got a job-related kidney problem instead, I still miss the booze dearly, here and then, but the doc's orders...
To compensate this, I amuse my mates with three attempts to quit smoking per day.

I started smoking weed when I was 14....when I was 15-16 I had some issues with drugs; not nearly as bad as they seem to be for a lot of people, but fucking nasty nonetheless. I mostly just smoked a lot of weed, but that was due to weed being the only thing I was around a lot, really I just did whatever drugs were around. A decent amount of downer pills for a little while too, but never close to excess with those really (though I did have some fucked up incidents involving opiate pills...ended up collapsing on pavement once, in public. Fun!).

Right now, I haven't smoked pot in like 5 months, and in some ways I feel a lot better then I did when smoking a ton, though when I had the right weed and wasn't in a period of heavy use it did wonders for my anxiety...but I haven't quit anyways, I just don't wanna smoke all the time and don't wanna support cartels; once I can find a source of good homegrown I'll buy a baggy here and there, it's just not a priority now. I also occasionally smoke tobacco now (used to fairly often but never daily), but only natural, hand rolled cigs and stuff like cigarillos or very rarely cigars or pipe tobacco. I'm gonna be 18 soon though and feel like, since I won't need anyone to do the actual buying for me, I'll end up smoking a lot then.. I won't buy Camels or Marlboros or any bullshit like that so I don't care though.

Psychedelics are amazing though...if I run across some acid tabs anytime I know I'll just have to pick them up. I've tripped on shrooms (well psylocibin candy) alone, listening to Black Metal, and looked in the mirror, and still had a great time...of course that doesn't mean I can't have a bad trip, and it wasn't exactly a huge dose, but I seem to metabolise most drugs pretty fast (for example when I get drunk I rarely even feel any hangover). Salvia is fucking awful though; first few times were cool, but each time got more intense and more uncomfortable. Never had any visuals with it though...hell pot's given me more light visuals.

Alcohol is my very favorite drug though...only drug besides pot (and tobacco/coffee) I've ever used frequently, and unlike pot I never get paranoid when drunk. When I turn 21 (and anytime I'm often hanging around someone who's willing to buy for me) I'll probably end up drinking all the time (well not literally) I imagine...and, in a bit over a year when I'm 19 anytime I'm at my mom's house in Canada I'll probably end up drinking far too much as well (actually I've thought about moving to Canada in a few years, but that's for the free healthcare, the drinking age is just a nice side effect...I'd also move to one of the areas with a big Crust scene as well, which I plan to do when I move no matter where it is).

Anyways, yeah, I've mostly managed to start moderating myself, and pretty easily (well I drink a ton of coffee most days though haha), but I feel it would be pretty fucking hypocritical of me to judge others for any drug use, even if they're on nasty shit I've never touched like coke, speed, heroin (which honestly I considered trying when I was at my worst...good thing I couldn't find any), etc. Generally addicts are really victims anyways, and beyond that what someone does to their own body is up to no one but themself; it's when/if they start causing legitimate harm to others that a problem arises (and I feel decriminalizing and even regulating ALL drugs would help such problems go down personally)

I only smoke cigarettes (I know, I know, I'm working on quitting) and drink. I used to do a lot of different substances, but never really had any problems with them. I think my worst is when I was 14 and would drink and do either xanax, coke (if I somehow had the money) or random other pills all at the same time, quite often. I smoked a lot of weed when I was like 13-14, but stopped because I got wayy too high once, and the shit makes me nervous and anxious as shit now. I've done mushrooms, and heroin once. Ecstasy a handful of times. I started taking a lot of prescription meds like codeine, vicodin and other downers while I drank, and snorting adderall a lot when I was 15, and got to the point where if I didn't have it one day, I'd steal benzedrex inhalers and eat the cotton inside for a speedy buzz. I don't really regret any of it, because they we're decent experiences, and it's nice to know I can live without them, and not have the overwhelming curiosity to try them. Now though, the really only mind altering substance I do is drink, which I do way too much. I dropped out of school at 14, and gained a pretty sizable alcohol habit since then for an 18, soon to be 19 year old. It's gotten me into some shit, and really has been making my life go a little sour as of recently, so I'm trying to cut back on that shit too. As far as hard drugs go, I used to believe in the whole live and let live thing, I mean I still do, if this were an anarchist society, but seeing as what drugs support as this time right now, I think Mouth Sewn Shut said it best on that live video where they're baggin' on Leftover Crack. Let me see if I can find it.

    EDIT:
I read this article in an Adbusters once, and it really made me despise cocaine.

I've never liked drugs just because of the negative effect it has had on family, mostly because of my brother. Whenever I smell pot my mind goes to punching my brother in face for all the shit he has done to my family. But I know not everyone is like my brother and I hang out with a few users but I hate just seeing people us drugs. I thing people should be allowed to use them if they can keep themselves under control. It's just a personal pet peeve of mine.

Okay, I admit that I haven't read every comment in this thread so I apologize in advance if I repeat something that has been covered.
Anyway, here is my view: Though I would never advocate hard drugs, I would never look down upon anyone who takes them. Now, I do make a point of avoiding junkies because, well, they steal stuff and get other people into trouble. Despite this, I also make a point of making a distinction between occasional, social and casual use of hard drugs and full-on addiction. Also, though I have known many people who have fucked up their lives because of heroin, I have also seen just as many people fuck up their lives on alcohol, weed and sometimes without the extra assistance.

Personally, I do drink a fair bit when I go out and I have, on occasion, smoked weed but I've never really wanted anything to do with drugs. I once took shrooms and spent what must have been about four hours trying to get up one stair (it looked closer than it was and I thought I was stepping through it) so I never really bothered with them again. Other than that, I occasionally take speed before I play gigs (its a performance drug, I don't even view it as recreational) and that's it.

Fuck man. i feel dirty compared to the above threads. I started cigs and alcohol at age 12..got into crack for the summer at 12 with my stepdad.then faded out of it. at 13 is when it all really started for me tho..at that point i was smoking ciggs for about a year now, drinking whenever i possibly i could , and my stepbrothers got me into huffing axe deodorant spray..(which over the next five years led me into lysol , dxm and dustoff and anyother generic form of those 3 legal store drugs.) but i was huffing everynight (now i have holes in my tonsils :/ ) and just huffing alone made me vow to try every drug known to man before i died, it was my only life goal at that age. So. my mom has fibromiaylsia, and id allways see her falling alseep and nodding off around the house...so one day at 13 i said fuck it im gunna try her meds..it was methadone wafers (40mgs) methadone is a synthetic opioid used for pain, and/ or maintaining opiate abuse legally. i broke off ten mg's of it and felt fucking amazing all night.. so then the next morning (not knowing about methadones half life) ate another ten and vomited all day..that is when i fell in love with opiates. the next 7 years of my life, consisted of trading roles as smalltime oxy perk and methadone trader, to the junkie begging for a hit or a line. off and on id play the roles. shot dope for the first time at 15 in burlington vt. 15 is also when i got BACK into crack with my stepdad..and my mom too this time around. they lost our house because of the crack...and left me there at 15 in a forclosed house. needless to say , i squatted there . lasted 90 days (3 seperate 30 day extensions ;) )before the sherrifs came with the legal eviction. house partys. group sex. opiate pill game galore and all the bullshit that comes with it. theft. fights. fake friends. armed home invasions from both sides of the table (but that was just with my wankster friend). you know the drill. but in the midst of the 90 days of chaos, my mom had an old friend who had just gotten out of prison at the time for killing a mother and her daughter in a drunken accident, and she asked me and my friends if we'd let him live on the second floor apartment (not knowing at the time what he was in for) dude shows up. covered in swazis..owned a pitbull named "caution" (which was cool cus now we had a pitbull in the house)..had a smiley on his cheeks..(knife sliced from each corner of his mouth up to his ears on both sides..one went up further than the other tho so they were uneven..showed he struggled when he got em..who wouldnt :/ )..one drunken night he spilled the truth about everything and thats why dudes cut his face in prison)..but this guy ..from the accident..one leg was shorter than the other..walked with a cane and a weird platform creeper / tennis shoe lookin thing to even out his stance, ..but yeh dude had all kinds of opiate prescriptions from the accident..fentynol ,methadone, dilaudid and vikes..so we fucked with him for the time being, (even tho he was a nazi...pill heads ...no self respect) things chilled out for maybe a week or two when my best friend at the time (we've kind of faded, but no one can ever take away the times we've shared) got me a job up north at a subway shop in lebanon but the week after i finally got this half sheet of acid my friend used my mailing adress for, and i had my first psychedelic experience. balls deep in awesome sauce. and it helped me see things for what they were. i got clean for a bit..but then my ex left me for some older bubblegum punk fuck ass, and called me a crackhead and shit...so of course i got all butthurt and started using again..then i got sent away for a few weeks to a youth shelter for being on probation for a burglary on a convienent store i did when i was 13..so the state allready was keeping tabs on me with probation and truency officers..so they knew i wasnt going to school and knew i was drugging like fuck, so they sent me away. i got out wih even more rage..moved into my moms new place with her..started stealing her methadone again (whenever she wouldnt just give it to me) ANYWAYS long story short. they fucked my life. i hope all this sounds like bad noise to you all. but for the record. im 20 now. got out of a methadone program 4months ago. and im still clean. stay up everyone. and FUCK drugs. cept acid and weed. cheers!

    well my opinion is:
all drugs needs to be destroyed totaly killed cuz of drugs you totaly fuck your life up.
About weed i think that weed should be legalized in every state in medicine and that it woud be used for seriously injured
    people.

i don't think it will be possible to totally destroy hard drugs, the history of drug cultivation and drug use is ages old, starting with alcohol and opium poppies in the near east, with coca use in latin america and the old world had it's magic mushrooms and smoke inhalers too - there has always been a need to "go over the top" for religious/shamanistic reasons or divination/fortune telling like in Delphi/ancient greece.
addiction and resulting social problems are relatively new in human history and without breaking a primitivists leg i would guess, that the problem rose with the urbanisation and industrialisation in the 19th century, alienation and de-socialisation as the main culprits.
there were soon a lot fruitless attempts to deal with the mass-problem of alcohol, the prohibition in the u.s. would make only the most famous example - now we got the "war on drugs", i witnessed some of it's savage d.e.a.-spin offs in the middle americas - guess we won't disagree about this as the next futile attempt to cover up the darker sides of capitalist mass society at the cost of some poor farmers who don't really have a chance to choose.
ah yes, and during the u.s.-campaign in the far east in the sixties and early seventies drug production and drug trade became kinda secondary businesses for some government agencies, some say the "dope for guns"-business is still active these days... afghanistans fields are blossoming opium-red again and u.s. boots rule the land.

I drink and smoke weed. But then again it's always part of the whole free trade capitalist thing.
I make my own alcohol, hard apple cider, and Kilju ( SUPER HARD).

Drug dealing is a good job i guess, you can be your own boss, work your own hours, etc. But then again dope was introduced to us by the government then illegalized all in a scheme to lock up the poor. Seriously if you think about it, they work their shitty jobs, to get the money, to get drugs to forget what the had to do to get the money to get drugs. And then if you're really poor, all you can really turn to is drug dealing, and then you go to jail. And private jails make money off of you being there.

I'm pretty bored with getting fucked up these days. Get's boring always having your head in la la land.

FDA is racist, it's always the poor minorities they exploit for using crack and hard drugs when like 75% of hard drugs users are rulling class and white.

Only the summary of a very interesting article I found some time ago, sadly it seems to be taken offline now:
I think it's impossible to relate drug abuse to a specific group or class of people - everyone has her/his experiences with stuff from painkillers and sedatives to cocaine and other expensive lifestyle-drug, there were addicted us-presidents, corporative managers on speed, homeless street kids sniffin' glue - it's just one big
I guess the answers vary greatly - personally I think the problem is getting an addiction and becoming unpredictable.
I would agree that the drug problem isn't that old and closely related to the development of our beloved economic system, degrading human living and creativity to mere resources with the alienating division of work/labour and the decomposition of social structures - serving at a assembly line the whole day long and afterwards only watching TV because you're tired and fucked up... :|

my only problem with all that is that within a punk scene drugs replace ideas if you catch my meaning the scene will begin to gravitate towards the biggest party guys and a mob mentality tends to ensue. the thinkers begin to be left behind in favor of the instant gratification fun fun fun lifestyle of the drug scene

The most addictive drug is Kocka Koola. That stuff will leave you in ruins.
I have an idea, as an alternative to money use weed.

I believe marijuana should be legal. I do not think it is a drug. I do not think Psilocybin mushroom are drugs either, or any other plant that is grown naturally, and the things that I do think are drugs I believe should be legal too.
