hi I'm from edinburgh as already stated. I am an anarcho-syndicalist. I have had the same friends since school and since developing a political and ideological view on life have realised that they are racist wankers and I really dont like them. I am stuck being a person I dont want to be so at some point next year plan on leaving it all behind packing my shit and heading somewhere else to live off the grid.
You're not a person you dont want to be, you're a clued up individual surrounded by wankers by the sound of it. You dont identify yourself by the people you are surrounded by, so why take their lack of awareness as your own? Alow yourself to be yourself - we all live in a world that's not how we want it to be, and it doesn't have to dictate to us the person we have to be. Running away wont get you away from the world.

I dont see it as running away more just living life the way I want to live it without having to be associated with these people.
Peer pressure can be a bitch. I also had 2 friends with whom I got reaquaintd with after some time and they turned out to be full on racists, one had become a nazi skinhead. Well I told them my standpoint and distanced myself from them.
