I'm pretty sure it's 58, but let me check again. 72 is really too big number for France.

58 classic nuclear reactors, 12 reactors that are being stopped (but a disaster can still happen like in japan)

total 70 reactors, but it was in 2006 now they opened more

Updates on the situation in Japan

I just updated our french anarchist journal with dozens of articles on Japan

Here is a short version of what happenned today. Everything can be verified in the press:

    - The nuclear accident in japan is now rated level 6 on a scale of 7. It is now officially the biggest nuclear accident after Chernobyl
    - Medias keep saying that the japenese government is lying and minimizing facts
    - Today the building of reactor #3 exploded, after the explosion of reactor #1 yesterday
    - Reactor #2 is still out of control. Experts are saying that nuclear fusion is on going. The building will probably explode soon.
    - Today the radioactive part of the Reactor #2 was totally exposed at the air because there wasn't any water left to cool the reactor.
    - The radioactivity is VERY HIGH, experts are saying that japenese get in 1 hour the maximum dose tolerated in 1 year.
    - Experts are saying they still fear a chernobyl-like scenario where the reactors would cause a nuclear explosion

    - The debate against nuclear energy is re-launched again in Europe. A lot of people are asking a moratorium against nuclear. France state are totally against it.
    - Yesterday, nearly 100,000 people were protesting on the streets against nuclear energy
    - Today, the german government cancelled the decision to extend the life of the nuclear reactors for 12 more years. They say they will do a moratory of 3 months on nuclear energy

how do you mean 'disaster can still happen like in japan' ? there is no core inside them, and it's not possible for nuclear fusion to happen, isn't it ?

The complete stopping of a nuclear reactor is a very long process, divided in many different steps. Once it is totally finished, in theory there is no building at all left. So those 12 reactors are not totally dismantled.

The first step of the process is to let the nuclear core rest in water for a couple of years. During this time a disaster can still happen... Then the next step will be the decontamination and destruction of the nuclear reactors...
    12 stopped reactors isn't 12 destroyed reactors...

The building of reactor number 2 just exploded

This explosion damaged the reactor way more seriously than the other explosion that happened in reactor #1 and reactor #3

So the buildings of all of the three reactors have blown out.... Whats going to happen next ?

    It's the HAARP mannnnnnn.

But really, what do you think the threat of the radiations hitting the west coast of the US is? I know some people are freaking out, and others are kinda like eh. I can't find any info in between government "everything will be fine" and conspiracy theorists "it's the HAARP weapon! this was an attack, of course theyll tell you everything ok because they want you to be infected!" on the interwebz.

Kinda scary this nuclear thing. Hope Malaysia (I'm in Singapore, neighboring country) doesn't go ahead and build theirs. And I certainly hope Singapore does not do the same. I wrote an article about Nuclear Power in my last zine. I predicted something like this to happen soon and it did.

According to official sources the radiation that will be hitting north america will be really now.... I don't know how true these informations are

You can see a complete evolution of the nuclear cloud here:

Still following this closely since the beginning, but i'm too busy updating our french anarchist journal.... Here's some quick updates about what has been going on recently:

    - HIGH contamination level everywhere in Japan

    - Tokyo water is contaminated and japenese can't drink it because radiation levels are too high

    - Contamination found in food near Fukushima

    - Today nuclear agencies report high contamination levels in the sea

    - Damaged nuclear reactors are still leaking radiations

    - Nuclear cloud went all over europe. Anormal radiation levels are reported

    - The building of the nuclear reactor in reactor #2 is highly damaged and leaking highly radioactive water. Many workers were hospitalised due to irradiation

    - The japenese firefighters are still unable to cool the reactors

    - Neutron beams were seen, meaning that a nuclear FISSION could be going on
    http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2011/03/80539.html

    - China is scared of the situation in Japan. They censored the words "Fukushima" and "nuclear" on the internet. Telephone is also censored, many chinese reported that the conversation was cut after they said words like "nuclear" or "protests"

    - Many debates and protests against nuclear are still going on in occidental country. In quebec we are not seriously considering to close Gentilly-2, our only nuclear central

    - Experts are still fearing a catastrophe similar to tchernobyl, or even worse, a nuclear explosion. Sounds more unlikely than before, but it is still a possible scenario.

Man, I hate media. When the disaster happened, there was a whole story made just out of it, and now no one talks about Japan anymore, sad. Really sad. If only we could help them somehow..but I'm not really sure how. I hope they will be able to cool the reactors as soon as possible.

"- Experts are still fearing a catastrophe similar to tchernobyl, or even worse, a nuclear explosion. Sounds more unlikely than before, but it is still a possible scenario." Sometimes, it's hard to learn from past.

Fuck nuclear plants and fuck the risks we are taking by building them. Alternative energy ftw.

Some infos were released about Tokyo Electric Power Company.... They have a very long past of lies, disinformation, and hiding reports on the problem of their nuclear power plants.... Over 200 problems on their reactors were hidden to the public, including many problems on Fukushima power plants.
Once again fucking capitalism and profits are partly responsible of this disaster.

Exactly what happened at Fukushima is going on at NJ nuclear plant, except now reactor is in refueling
    http://enenews.com/9pm-special-edition- ... rsen-audio

ost: [...] What if the reactor were running in that type of situation?

Nuclear Expert Arnie Gundersen, Fairewinds Energy Education: That would be worse case scenario.

If Oyster Creek wasn’t in a refueling and this tidal surge hit, it’s exactly what happened at Fukushima Daiichi at that point.

You’ve lost off-site power and you can’t cool the nuclear reactor because these pumps were flooded.

We can all be thankful that the plant was in a refueling outage.
