    UNICEF Biography

    A Finnish punk rock/speed metal band founded in 2004. They quit in 2012 after the death of drummer Tonmi Lillman.

    Not to be confused with United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, there were two punk bands that went by the name UNICEF in the early 1980s.

    One was a Finnish hardcore punk band that released one EP in 1983 including 3 tracks; Käkimassaa, Orkku and 251.

    Another was a U.S. hardcore band from Raleigh NC that played from 1983 - 1985. This band featured guitarist Phil Swisher who later went on to play with Corrosion of Conformity and Leadfoot.

    Kråklund Records was a Finnish record company, label, record shop and distributor, founded by the members of Klamydia in 1991 in Vaasa, Finland. The distribution, shop and publishing sectors were closed on December 31, 2007.

    The label continues to maintain the back catalog, and release a couple of new releases per year. Both the old and the new releases are distributed by Supersounds Music.
