Hi! Things are great because it's friday! I know the days become what we make of them, but I can't seem to recreate that friday feeling if it's not... you know... friday.
Absolutely! Here's an analogy of the week: Friday you're starting to come on, the excitement grows and grows. Saturday you're cruising the peak but at some point you feel like taking a bit more of Friday to keep you there. Sunday you're starting to come down but you're still enveloped by the pleasant afterglow. Monday comes the inevitable crash back down to mundane reality. From Tuesday to Thursday you're back at baseline!
Literally or figuratively? lol. I've never heard that one. But I'm guessing it's both. You're right though, Wednesday does have a slightly different vibe. I heard in Finland Wednesdays is drinking night. They even have a special name for Wednesday (besides the usual name) - I forget what it's called but it relates to drinking.
I'm pretty sure it's only a thing in places like the UK, US or here in Australia, so that's probably why. I think it's both. It's basically the mid-week hump lol.
In Sweden we call wednesday "lill-lördag" (which literally translates to "small-saturday" but the meaning is more like "saturday light"). It's common for people to go out drinking then but I've never been one of them because I have trouble moderating my intake and always end up with a raging hangover.
