World of Skinhead

An inside look into one of the more rugged Western workingclass subcultures. Issues of what it means to be a skinhead and what doesn’t mean. Influence of other subcultures, especially raggae, is addressed. Skins all over the world were interviewed. This is not a work of confirmation of racial prejudice.

Some good interviews with skinheads of all races, all religions, colours and politics. A good place to start off if you want to learn some skinhead history.

Here's an interesting cinema verite style documentary on the world of skinheads that was made in 1995 by Doug Aubrey. The storyline is narrated by the skinheads themselves and they hail from America, Germany, Scandinavia and the UK. If you're old school see if you can recognize the ones from Baltimore and NYC. I believe this originally aired on Channel 4 Television in the UK. Aubrey currently works for www.autonomi.tv, a production company with some really interesting looking releases.
