We all know Crass did, but who defined it and made it what it is today?

mmmh, what it is? a possible defintion you can see at the link of the first post of this topic...
but, maybe this definition is merely for those, who needs it, and those, who don't need a definition, know by themselves, what they think, ap may be...
in germany there's a similiar discussion: what is left-wing...
nobody knows, but many people claim to be...
there're some ideas about, what it could be, some of them I like, other i don't like.
same is about Anarchy, same about punk.
well, if you really want to get a clear answer for *you*, you should clarify your question.

Crass were never an 'anarcho-punk' band. They were a radical alternative to punk itself.

Hence the ambiguity around the punk label in the early days.
