What are you listening to?

An old favorite of mine that I still listen to every so often:

 

I first heard this song during the closing credits of The Hobbit. I didn't know who it was by but I liked the song. Discovered it was by Ed Sheeran (yeah I know... American Idols). Anyway, I still like the song. Also found a melallized version of it and a celtic woman version. I'll post em in that order: original - metal - celtic.

 

Ooo, I've heard the Celtic Woman version, didn't know it was an Ed Sheeran song tho. Also currently listening to this.

I've always maintained that this chick probably has the punkest, sluttiest female vocals I've ever heard. It confirms it every time I hear it. Just uagh! I love it!
The band hails from Hungary. Apparently they kicked her out of the band cos she was lazy and often didn't turn up for practices. What a crying shame. Thereafter they dropped Cirkáló from the name and carried on as Auróra with one of the male band members taking over vocal duties. But the band just wasn't the same without her.

 

Listening to Suffer by Bad Religion now.

There's a bit of throat singing in this one too. You might like it. My only complaint is there's not enough of it in this. These here are indigenous Siberians.

It's amazing how far throat singing had spread through different cultures, all the way from Asiatic cultures, through the Vikings and even African cultures.

I remember that song This may be subliminal but I suddenly had the urge to listen to an old favourite of mine which is a cover of a New Model Army song. Do you get it?

 

Hell, lemme put the original version up here too. It is after all the one I heard first, and although Sepultura really did it justice I couldn't say which one I like better.
