So i like to thrift my clothes because it gives clothes a longer life, and it's better for the planet, and im trying to be as antil consumerism as possible(kinda easy when your poor and cant afford most things anyways) but my town is small and all we have is a good will and personally I dont like to shop there because of the fact that theu profit from people's donations and they barley pay employees and treat em like crap, so I was wondering if anyone knew some good thrift sites? Ive heard of depop but like is it actually good or is it something bad masquerading as a good cuase??

Depop and the like are capitalistic ventures, they take a cut of everything people sell, but so do sites like Bandcamp, so they're probably as good as you're gonna get honestly, at least from the sites I've heard of. I'd say don't let perfection be the enemy of good, it's still better to get clothes second-hand, as long as the company isn't funding genocide or something.

I can confirm that Goodwill pays shit wages, but so does Salvation Army (I've managed stores for both in the past), so I'm wondering if that isn't just the norm for working at a thrift store.

I have never seen those sites.
Could start a thread on APN and post things we want / need and/or post things we have to share or trade. .... vinyl. band shirts.
    ...:)

Usually in small towns there are local thrifts (I know because I live in a town without one but near towns with locally owned stores. One of them even has a goodwill but the local has a lot more stuff). You may not be able to find them easily on google but ask around or zoom in on the map. If not, look at towns near you. I am half an hour from any thrift. You can always find something.

I remember living in Austin and loving Goodwill's. Because there were many in our locale and any given nite you could roll through one and tons of donations were stacked up- dropped of items after close. Beautiful, vulture memories.
:).....(need a happy emoji w/glasses as opposed to sunGlasses)

APN does have admins, they'd need to set up an actual sub-forum. The best that we end-users could make is a thread.

That would be choice. I definitely know vinyl I want & choice vinyl I would be willing to trade.
I have been cutting bait on double vinyls and band shirts this year, just to travel lighter. When I share my toys with other cats- it feels better than , as if, I told mi hijo/hija to bury the dead with their art.....I feel at peace knowing that art survives better when not treated like a commodity.
And we wouldn't be paying handling fees or duty taxes. :peacesign:<3:fire:

I forgot to mention, my girlfriend uses vinted and has no complaints about it to my knowledge. There are a lot of websites out there.
