Marijuana along with all other drugs should be legal.
Excessive use of anything is bad for you. It just takes a lot more marijuana than any other drug to be over using it.
Now while you can't die from smoking it, you deffinatly can became lazy couch potato. It all depends on the person.

P.S. :ecouteurs: SMOKE WEED EVERY DAY :ecouteurs:

decriminalization is a much stronger argument then legalization. the word legal entails so much random bullshit....i wonder how many ways legislators can say profit?

if that prop. 19 shit passed, then weed would end up like tobacco...in the hands of big business and government...watered down, controlled, pumped full of chemicals. you'd have to smoke twice as much to get the same results, and probably with more adverse health effects.

as far as the prison system goes and other government punishment in response to legalities (control factors, acting upon law, etc.)...fuck it all together. legal is not a term in my vocab and is just a fucking joke. it's about controlling the population and making money...if the government can control the people even more and make profit through legalizing weed, then they'd do it. the drug cartels in mexico are a threat to government power and profit, and that's why it's illegal (at least that's the case in california/U.S.). human life is not the governments' or corporations' concern....unless that life makes decision that effect wall street. legal means profit and control. as an anarchist, i don't support the word legal. again, it's a bullshit lawyer term.

remember, we're talking about global plutocracy here.

Fuck ecstasy and cocaine, I'm not taking street shit anymore (well I still wanna try acid), I don't wanna support the death caused by cartels, I don't wanna help some psychopaths at the top to get richer and richer by the day...I mean I'll still smoke weed with anyone, and buy if I'm 100% sure it's homegrown/local, plus as I said before I still do wanna try acid, but I need to stop buying street shit, I've done enough of that in my life already.

I think the excessive use of everything is not ok, talking bout the health part. Smoking leads to some serious health problems. But marijuana can be experienced not only by smoking, you can eat it aswell.
For me marijuana should be undoubtedly legal, I don't even consider it a drug, it can be seen as a medicinal herb, depending on the way you use it.
The use of marijuana is correlated with the cure of too many illnesses to stay illegal although. I mean that behind the criminalization of marijuana, lie the huge interests of the pharmaceutical industry, among other things of course. If people started consume marijuana instead of using excessively chemical medicines to cure certain illnesses (which are really worse for our health than weed), all those companies would lose their 'valuable' profits.

And by the way I recommend anyone to see a video called "the flower", which is like a short documentary that grapples with the issue of criminalization of marijuana. I really enjoyed it, it's so damn right.

    MaryJane Thread

I don't know if anyone has made a topic like this but if so, well, here's another one.

What are your views on cannabis? Not just about the legalization but also about health, recreational use and the overall culture surrounding this plant.

I for one, am pro-legalization. I understand that we'd have to pay taxes but it'd still be a lot cheaper than it is now that it is illegal.
I believe in the medicinal properties of maryJ and I don't see any harm on reacreationally using it (notice I said use it not abuse it).

    Anyways, opinions...

    Re: MaryJane Thread

i've been fighting for cannabis decrminalisation/legalization since years and years... i have read a lot, i have countless arguments and i can counter any anti-cannabis argument. I even produced a DIY documentary on cannabis legalization and distributed it for free...

Cannabis prohibition is based on years and years of lies and propaganda from US government. Inform yourself about Reefer Madness.. There is a very good documentary on the anti-cannabis propaganda, it's called "grass" and i think it is available here in the download section.

Cannabis SHOULD already be legal. Back a couple of years ago, the canadian government asked very serious scientifics to make a research on marijuana. They were sure the conclusion would be that cannabis is dangerous for your health and they thought they could use this research as arguments against cannabis. But the conclusions were different than they thought : the scientifics confirmed that cannabis is less dangerous for your health compared to tobacco or alcohol, they recommanded a complete legalization and they debunked ALL myths used against cannabis since over 100 years. But nothing happenned and cannabis is still illegal... You can find the results of this research everywhere on internet, just search for Canadian Senate research on marijuana.

When America started did you know that you could pay your taxes with hemp ? At some moment, you were even FORCED to cultivate hemp... It's crazy all the things you can make with it... gaz, paint, t-shirts, paper, etc.... Did you know that with 1 square meter of hemp you can make the same amount of paper that you make with 4 square meter of wood ? Even the constitution of USA and the declaration of independance is written on paper made from hemp....

Ok so now why cannabis isn't legal ? It's very easy to understand : capitalism....... Tobacco is more dangerous than cannabis and it's legal only because it is very hard to produce and it require large factories... so it's an industry that is very easy to control and everyone is forced to pay taxes.... So government makes a lot of money.... But with cannabis, there would probably be more counterband than actual legal sales because CANNABIS IS SO EASY TO PRODUCE !!! You don't have to have large factories you can produce it at home so it's very easy to avoid getting caught and avoid paying taxes...

It's funny most of the person against cannabis always say the same shitty arguments.... But it has been scientifically proven that cannabis isn't dangerous for your health, people believe it is just because of more than a century of anti-cannabis lies and propaganda.... First they said that cannabis will make you kill people, then they said you would kill yourself, then they said you would become crazy, then the cold war came and they said cannabis equals communism, etc.... it never ends...

The argument i hear most often today is that if you start smoking cannabis, you will end up taking hard drugs like cocain... WELL GUESS WHY ???? It's only because it's illegal !!!!! If you could legally buy cannabis in a coffee shop, your dealer wouldn't offer you to buy cocaine or speeds!!! It's only because it's illegal... Cannabis dealers are already taking risks, so they say why not sell speeds or cocain while i'm at it??

It's funny that smoking cannabis is considered as a crime.... Theorically, a crime has a criminal AND a victim... How can i be a criminal if there is not any victim ?? If i'm the own victim of my crime, what happens if i chose to abandon the complaint ??
I was arrested for dealing cannabis and at court i made myself a tshirt saying "MAY THE VICTIM OF MY CRIME PLEASE STAND UP AND ACCUSE ME".... Judge didn't like it, process was cancelled lol...

I'm against partial legalization of cannabis for medical use.... I want FULL legalization of cannabis. If we only legalize it for medical use, it will lead to CORRUPTION of doctors and other health workers... It's already happenning in some US states.... People without any health problem will pay doctors to get a cannabis prescription so they can smoke and buy cannabis legally... So doctors become corrupted.

On top of all, statistics prove that war on cannabis is totally useless.... Since the beginning governments kept investing more and more money on drug war... And the statistics are saying that drug using and sales are ON THE RISE... Governments is wasting their money on something that SHOULDN'T be illegal and anyway fighting against it is USELESS.

And no, cannabis wouldn't be minimized if it was legal... It's false to say that more people will start smoking it if it's legal... Would you start shooting heroin if we legalize it tomorrow ???
Governments should take the millions of dollars used to fund drug war and use it for education on the risks of drugs abuse. Also, if cannabis would be legal, the product would be a much better quality and the quality could be controlled to avoid cannabis/hashish cutted with dangerous product.

I agree with this entirely. Hell, I say all drugs should be legalized, all prohibition does is make them more dangerous by taking away any regulation of quality, and make it so the mob and cartels and whatever other gangs can profit off of it, as well as limiting freedom. Plus I've heard a number of times that there was MORE drinking going on during the prohibition...

I forget where, I wanna say Portugal
But all drugs have been decriminalized,
and you'll get nothing more than the equivalence of a minor traffic ticket for smoking, snorting or shooting up in public

This of course is when all hemp had THC as the active ingredient. Grades of hemp that are now used for clothing and paper are genetically modified and don't contain the active ingredient. There are hemp plantations in Tasmania here in Australia.

Sorry, everything is in french :(

Yes exactly. I also believe even hard drugs should be decriminalized... Many people are surprised when i talk about it but i have many arguments

Decriminalizing hard drugs would destroy mafia, organized gangs and bikers plague

Also, when you know some junkies you understand how they are living and you also understand that decriminalization would help them a lot.... In some countries there are clinics giving free drugs to people, it helps them a lot
Doctors can watch them while they shoot so they can prevent overdose and drugs mix. They can also give needles for free and watch for AIDS, give them food for free, etc... It also prevent needle sharing....

And more importantly, a junky will only plan his life in short-term... that's why they can't think about getting out of drugs, finding a home and getting a job... I know many junkies, and they live one day at time... When they wake up, all they think is to get a dose, then another one, and another, etc..... If we can eliminate the problem of finding drugs, they can focus their time on getting out of the street and finding a job.
Also, on countries where they give heroin to junkies, they can ensure that the heroin is good quality and not mixed with nasty bullshit... I have a documentary on it, and all junkies say that with their heroin they need 2 shoots per day instead of 10.

it would stop prostitution, a lot of thieves, a lot of violence, and would prevent junkies addicts to morphine to start heroin because they can't find heroin and vice versa....

in countries where they tried that, they noticed that most junkies following the program managed to get rid of drugs and found a job... they also noticed a decrease of heroin taking

in europe and some other countries yes, but in the USA it is still illegal as far as i know

Canadian scientific research said that there is no direct link, smoking weed won't make you become schizophrenia or paranoid, but if you are already schizophrene and it hasnt been discovered yet it may "activate" the disease, or something like that. I'd have to read the research again to come with the exact words.
