everybody is blaming each other no one is happy someone always seems to have the magic solution that always seems to lead to more of the same houses getting so expensive none of us realistically will be able to buy one our food is unfit to eat and when people inevitably get sick they can't afford to get well again with all that people can't even be bothered to notice that our elected leaders aren't ours they are bought and sold doing the beating of big money as for the rest our rulers they lie and lie, lie so much lie about what is the purposes of what they are doing about whether they are doing something and about everything else and oh we know they do.

looking at all that I can come to one conclusion and one conclusion only, they aren't on our side the collapse is imminent

Its ridiculous how we outnumber them (filthy ritch) yet we struggle so much, there is too much 'house slaves' being too comfy living of masters leftovers. We work for them because we have to, we must have money in order to pay rent, buy food etc. We must become more independent, do your own garden, get chickens (free breakfast), buy locally and spread the message.

It seems to me that people going into politics seem to become a politician with the best intentions, but then get corrupted by offers of money. And they get greedy and the more money they have the powerful as a politician they become. To stop this, we need a cashless society, but that would never happen because the people with the power don't want to give it up. As power / money corrupts

Zoe Baker mentions in some of her essays an anarchist idea that as we act on the world, we change not only the world but also ourselves. I think the problem is that when we try to attain positions of power, we change ourselves in a way that serves that end, and lose sight of the previous goal (wellbeing, liberation, whatever).

I think by organising in anarchist ways, without seeking positions of power, without seeking to exert authority, we can achieve liberation. What exactly that means is a bit harder to say. For me, that means building mutual aid, forming unions and community assemblies, and generally being empathetic not just to the people around me but to myself as well.

As aint ashamed points out corporate greed and (today's) politics are too intertwined. It's almost impossible for any of us to make a real difference playing by their rules. But we won't be seeing a change for the better in a while if you ask me. When the consequences of capitalism is too hard to ignore even for the bourgoise, the feeling of helplessness and dissatisfaction spreads like wildfire throughout society. This would actually be positive for many of us as when people snap out of their complacency they use their critical thinking and start questioning authority. To stop the left from growing through this the right uses said instability to frighten everyone into irrationality (scared people make selfish choices). They use peoples' prejudices and create enemies that's anything but capitalism. The immigrants, socialism, poor people... Anything as long as they can keep making money. And it seems to be working (again). People question the need to help refugees, they question the use of vaccines, they question basic knowledge, doctors, scientists, because they're being tricked into believing nothing but the channels that confirm their fear and gives them something easy to blame that won't demand any personal sacrifices or change.

People have to be more in solidarity. Less to watch TV and listen to politicians. Some big reset is needed for people to start changing the current things in the world. A lot of things are not good and could get worse if something doesn't change for the better soon.
We must teach future generations the importance of preserving nature, all the bad sides of capitalism, greed, corruption and much more.

True, the hardest bit is actually having people be more in solidarity with one another. Or just rebuilding things from the ground up. For sure, we're well up shit creek without a paddle. Yeah, let them learn from the previous generations' fuck-ups.

I honestly believe plans are afoot to scale down humanity, this planet we all inhabit currently is buckling under the strain put on its depleting resources. The ones with the power and influence are staking their claim and leaving the vast majority of what they term "oxygen thieves" who in their eyes offer nothing of materialistic worth to THEIR existence need to be disposed of by whatever means necessary be it by attacks on their health, poverty or starvation. Elitism has got to such a point that these people honestly believe that we are the enemy of humanity's existence and scaling us down is not only of the utmost importance, its their duty. unfortunately, we, the mass population, are sleeping walking into the void. It's the complete mismanagement of the global infrastructure due to corruption and greed that has led us to this place and unless you are part of the global elite the prognosis doesn't look good. I so hope this is not the case but their too many indicators pointing to it.>:(

anarko punk world inside a world divided w/ fairy tales? yeah, let's do it together. an alternative way to live. keep it simple, ditch the system. united we stand, divided we fall. let's start the chaos, tear it all down. the collapse is near, let's make it happen. resist, revolt, reclaim. anti-this, anti-that, just anti it all. fight the power, break the rules.

Yeah, the system's a joke and they ain't even hiding it anymore. All these so-called leaders just puppets for the rich, while we struggle to survive. It's time to stop waiting for some savior and start tearing down their bullshit ourselves. Build our own world, where we ain't just "oxygen thieves."

I don't think a cashless society is necessarily the answer, because we could still be forced into capitalism via electronic funds. I would rather advocate for a moneyless society.

People are so divided these days, they don't even want to make friends like they used to. The idea of trust for one another is almost completely gone, and with that, how are we supposed to have any solidarity amongst one another?

Making friends it tough; no one wants anything to do with anyone unless it's comfortable. It sucks, discomfort causes growth. Now even counter-culture is too easily offended as well and wants to be comfortable, so people eliminate any thought, idea, or person that upsets them. Maybe it s because things just move too fucking fast, except social change of course. I mean every has been through punk-burnout; tired of the diy nonsense, and not feeling rewarded for labor. It used to take years to get burned out; I think with today's fast-as-light media, people expect things faster than they happen and then get burnt out not seeing the changes or results they're after. No one is willing to put in effort to do much, myself included, I struggle with apathy often.

Yea, I agree. The way modern society has gone has made even the punk scene complacent and apathetic. I see the WORST most bigoted divisive and hateful shit coming from the punk scene in a way that I think is such a mockery of what it used to be. It's like taking a shit on everything punk used to stand for. It's not just a joke, it's flat out fucking offensive.

I don't think there really is a solution when people just refuse to even communicate with one another like they do in today's world. This is the most alienating time to have to live through, it's really heartbreaking.

Everywhere I go, literally everywhere, from fucking Barcelona to London to NYC to San Francisco to Fresno to NC to Minneapolis to Pittsburgh, I hear almost the exact same things about the scene, run into the same problems and I can't tell you how many times I've heard the phrase "things were better 10 years ago" which like when I first started traveling, I thought it was just where I lived that had that experience, because I totally resonated and agreed with that sentiment every time I hear it, but it's literally world wide from what I've been told, seen, and experienced. I used to think maybe it was just a problem with the US, but that isn't even true.

Sorry, went on a bit of a rant about the state of the punk scene there... The last decade or so has honestly just been a real nightmare to live through... Watching everything decline and being so powerless to do anything to change things has really taken its toll....

In our cities, we can stroll along glass facades. We can walk through clean streets, sit in a café, have a drink there, go to the toilet there. We buy our clothes and food in shopping malls that are kept clean by employees with beautiful marble facades. No graffiti defaces the surfaces and stickers are removed immediately. We are also always able to discover something new, as the stores have to remodel regularly. Afterwards, we return to our apartment, which is located in clean streets, cars are parked in long rows, straight and lined up like a string of pearls. When we enter the smart home, the computer regulates our environment because we have long since trained the algorithms to our habits. There is no deviation, only the simple, pleasurable life.

But what if we ask ourselves for a moment why the city is not green and we not only breathe in better air, but also experience heat regulation through the additional planting? Or what about impaired people who need a short break to sit down, but don't have the money to consume something in a café at any time? Or what about our history and our identity if all signs of the residents disappear immediately? If every person remains just an object without identification with the environment? What happens then to the people who inhabit these spaces? Will fear remain? Isolation, because the points of connection and connection are lost? And where have the people gone who populated the social spaces before the major urban redevelopment, who talked and sometimes (admittedly) misbehaved? What happened to all these people? What happened to the places that had to make way for the shopping malls? Where do we go now when we want to communicate, when we don't want to sit alone in our apartment because the glossy series produced can't prevent us from feeling lonely? Where else can we get into conversation with other opinions from other social classes if not in public places or in pubs and bars?
Many people do not realize how important the representation of personality and social environment is for social contexts. Street and neighborhood festivals, graffiti, stickers, small pubs, small concerts (beyond the perfect, expensive shows) tell something about the people who live in these cities, tell something about their needs, their wishes, their thoughts and their dreams.
We remember every concert we played, remember the people and the experiences we shared with them.
Perhaps we as a society should ensure that no more houses are built next to which people seem so small that they are no longer recognizable. Perhaps we should put people at the center of our social efforts.
