    Cheers all,

    My name is Jason and I am from Venice California.

    I started going to punk rock shows in Los Angeles back in 1983 and was the guy in Venice that the Suicidals called the Crass punk. I was kinda' the odd guy out but had an absolutely amazing time growing up in Venice and Santa Monica and enjoying the amazing scene we had back in the day.

    Went to lots of shows at the Olympic, Cathay De Grande and Fenders Ballroom and many more.
    Roved up and down the California coast going to every show I could.

    I wrote for magazines like Ben is Dead, Skratch, Flipside, and some others that I can't remember. Forgive me. Rock City News? Yeah I think so.

    I can't afford to live in Venice anymore so I live in Westchester kinda' near LAX.

    I so am happy to join and share information and comment.


    I would like to give some props for the admins keeping this place going for so long. I feel like I have been lurking for decades. About time I join.

    Nah, Flipside went away quite some time ago.

    So did Ben is Dead and Skratch magazines.

    I think that some refugees from the aforementioned and Maximum Rock and Roll went over to a zine called Razorcake.

    I used to find it in my local record store up until about a year ago. Not sure if they went under or what.
