    Label - Profane Existence

DIY punk rock collective formed in 1989 and based in the United States by a1603628 and a number of others. They run Profane Existence Records which releases anarcho-punk style releases from bands throughout the world. They also release "Profane Existence" magazine as well as operating Profane Existence Distribution.

In 1996 Profane Existence teamed up with Skuld Releases (Germany) for a number of co-releases, always using both label names for prefix (EXIST/SKULD, SKULD/EXIST, SKULD-EXIST or similar).

The collective folded in 1998, although its distribution arm, then called Blackened Distribution, continued operating. They also put out a few releases under the label Aftermath to help pay off their debts. Profane Existence restarted in 2000.

In 2011, a1603628 stepped away from the collective. PROFANE EXISTENCE in now based out of West Virginia and primarily run by Chris Luton of a953979.

This is another in-print release on Profane Existence Records.

Please remove it until the CD is out of print.

    Thanks!

About as lame can be.....wouldn't want to miss those huge sales numbers huh Dan? The 40 or 50 people that would have downloaded this then decided they couldn't live without a hardcopy would have ruined your capitalist enterprise nest-pas? But this is old news compared to how many ex- PE bands have come out and blasted Dan for what he is in the last two years since he posted this..... :ecouteurs:

Yeah i've been reading up on the whole Dan PE issue since the mod forums opened up. Shit pisses me off, trying to claim ownership of realeases put out by other labels and by bands who gave permission for them to be shared. I loved the part when he basically said if you share PE music and he's not making money from it, you're not a real anarchist. :lmao: If you're trying to make a business out of punk you don't belong in the scene in the first place. In this day and age, record labels are basically obsolete. Bands can pretty much do it all themselves with nobody else scraping a buck off of it.

But it's old news, as you said. I joined the PE board today, out of boredom. They can't all be moneygrubbers like Lars..err..Dan.
