I'm not saying punks should be boyscouts or anything, but i'd like to see punks get in trouble for stuff like , feeding the homeless, or passing out literature, or protesting, or something constructive with some sort of positive message instead of just causing trouble and running amok, (unless it's against authority figures :))

    Flags... Patriotism... What hypocrisy!
In sweden it's not a crime to do... well, anything to the flag. Earlier this year there was an artist who wrote anti-russian, sexist, rasist quotes from the swedish army on swedish flags to bring light to what it's like in the army, and someone tried to charge him for dishonering the flag, but to no use. Since the 70s burning a swedish flag is no crime at all.
We don't have any pledge, so that's never been an issue to me, but for some wierd reason graduations often take place in churches here. When i was a kid my mom forced me there, but no one could make me stand there or sing.
I mean, certainly I can wave a flag, I sometimes do, but it better fucking be black and red!

Yeah, I suppose annoying people who don't deserve it is a great way to change the world or something? to paraphraze, when you bait someone, it's not anarchy.

You think having to stand before the flag is bad, i had to stand before it say the pledge and then pray. I went to catholic school and the teachers and priests were like nazis when it came to this. I got in trouble so many times because according to them i wasn't showing reverence to my god and country. I can't tell you how badly i wanted to tell everyone one of them off then rip the flag and crucifix off the wall and piss on them.

Man... I went to a catholic elementary AND high school (or equivalent thereof) and didn't have to pray even once. I had to go to church in high school like 4-5 times a year, but when my best friend died I told 'em I didn't want to go as she was a heavy-duty Christian, they just went: OK... suit yourself.
And even when I DID go it wasn't that bad, we just had a couple of teachers and students sing pop-songs and some dude reading from the Bible.

my school is just starting the pledge and our principle came on the intercom and said we will be doing the pledge to instill a sense of pride in our country and felt discuss-ted since we did it at my old school since i'm in 9th grade now but i need some good excuses to get out of it since my teacher is a huge nationalist ?

You don't need an excuse. You tell them that you won't stand at all or say anything. Just remind them of these cases:

West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette
    Frazier v. Alexandre, No. 05-81142

Mandatory anything with regard to the pledge is a violation of your 1st and 14th amendment rights and if they insists, you'll simply have to bring a lawsuit against them. The ACLU will help. They love the shit out stuff like that .

p.s. just to piss their nationalist ass off, tell them it was written by a socialist; because it was. :lmao:

I'm pretty sure you don't have to stand anymore. I got in trouble because I didn't stand for the flag a couple of times when subs came in. When they sent me up to the office, they just sent me back and told me not to piss off the sub.

Dishonoring the germun flag by shitting under the flag pole in a barracks area of the germun army did cost me 4 months of arrest when I was 19, I always try to repeat this unique experience - guess I'm somehow addicted - but today you can do whatever you want with the black-red-and-gold, they don't give a shit about it.

We had American flags set up on the side of our bridge, about 10 on each side, but they were just in little holsters so you could slide them right out. So of course me and my friend, slid out every one of them and threw them all into the river below. Luckily, a cop didn't pass by in the proceeding.

After, we took one down to the skatepark and burned it.
    Yeah... We were stupid. :/

I don't stand for the flag either. But teachers here don't really care because they think I'm a socially awkward introvert. Yay me.

    U.S.A. Pledge of Allegiance

    To pledge?
    Or not to pledge?
    That's my fucking question.
Why would I pledge to a nation, under "god" with "liberty and justice for all"
    When we lack liberty.
    And justice?
    What justice?
    How do you define justice?
    Punishment?
And why do we need to pledge to someone else's god?
What the fuck is that all about?
    uhhhh power?

What are these people really pledging to?
What are they trying to get me to pledge to?\

I think its bogus, pledging to a government that in no way will benefit me. They will only hurt me, my family, friends and every one else.

I probably don't know every reason why its wrong to pledge..but thats why i'm bringing it up.
    Any thoughts anyone?
It can't be right... no way.
