Ok, I don't want to talk about revolutions in Lybia or Egypt, or any other countries that have / had dictatorship, I want to talk about revolutions happening in democratic states at the moments. This topic already exsist, but no body wanted to answer me so, here I go. I'll tell you about the situation in my country (it doesn't have to be only about my situtation ) So, it all begins back in 90's when some Yugoslavian countries wanted to separate and have their own states. The war started between Croatia and Serbia (I'm talking about my country, there was also a war with Slovenia). So there are some facts about that war, Croatia was attacked becouse Serbia wouldn't let Croatia go becouse they had some benefits like tourism / sea. So it was a fascist war. Both sides are to blame. Serbia attacked, but Croats are not innocent. But, as we all know, nowadays there's still hate between us. We are not able to 'forgive' them, and they,erm..dunno still hate us I guess ( I'm talking about 50% of population, that's real situtation !). So, some generals that commited crimes are cought and some aren't.
But the thing is, there were some protest going around past few days, becouse we didn't want our general named Purda to be imprisoned in Serbia. After these protest ( most of the people were yelling "Heil Hitler" and other stuff, so I'm not interested in that), came protests against government. From first, they were violent, and most of the people were some right wing scums who didn't like "democracy" that is given to us today. I didn't want to participate in those protest. But now, there are 2-3k people (that's big number for my country) out there, burning flags of Eurpian Union etc. I saw some anarchists there ( at least with slogans) and I wondered..what the fuck are we doing ? We are on a protest where half of the people are right wing, half 'left' ? United ? Erm...Also, what do they want ? New government ? Of course, but a better one ? I don't think so. And if we are talking about anarchist revolution (we aren't but lets pretend), what could we do ? What should 'we' say we want ? No government ? Yeah, right - but there are 100 other countries with government, I don't think it could work. I hope you got my point and message. Should we participate in these 'revolutions' or ? I don't know what to think. Should I fight side by side with right wing chistans ? Please consider that I really don't know what to do in this situtation, so please don't attack me
I would be greatful if someone would explain this to me. Thank you !
P.S - sorry for this long story about Croatian past, I tought it is neccessary.
P.S. no. 2 - If someone is interested / knows something about Yugoslavia, and the war I'm talking about, it would be great if we could have some discussions on that topic, becouse there are lot of things I'm not sure what to think of.

    let love be our revolution.

This is one of many reasons why I still believe in peacful means to achieve anarchy. violence and hate is a fucking a virus - it stays in it's host, travels down from parents to children, it can spread airborn or even digitally; it takes on many different shapes and forms, but it is still the same virus nonetheless. But love can spread the same way....instead of a virus, however, it's the warmth of being next to someone on a bitterly cold day, or a friend to talk to when you think the world around is going to collapse. Love can spread like hate, their effects just as equally powerful. Hate can create bigotry where love can dissolve it. And i'm not saying love and peace and all that fun stuff is going to suddenly end all oppression and inequality, but i'm saying it can get alot done. And i'm not saying i don't hate either, because often times my hate guides my love. and love won't solve the environmental issues we've put ourselves in, or end the cruel, heartless capitalist system, but it sure as hell will put us in a better direction than hate. here i'll let scholastic deth explain it better:

    "We may even disagree
    But that's OK with me
    Lets begin to talk together
So we can ROCK TOGETHER" - schoalstic deth

sorry this was really cheesy lol

i think there are times when resistance using violent method is necessary but why hurl bricks at one and not the other when neither represents what you stand for and there is no clear solution as to how to replace it.

boarders and boundaries are a major problem, always have been and will be until there are no boarders.

from what i have understood i would agree with snookams.

i think you need to find a way of communicating with others who take your stance on this, form a small group promote your ideas and let it grow naturally....... maybe start positive community projects that bring people together

Bakica, I was on the biggest protest when 10k people participated. Its nothing special.
These protests are only events where Croats are united. There are much more extreme right wing scum on the protests than anarchists but at least they're not fighting each other (thats another big problem in our country but no time and will to write more about that).
Problem is that our government is not democratic enough to do something and people are not powerful enough to change something. I think nothing wont happen.
You're not missing anything (except 2 flags were burned and 1 EU flag, and conflicts with the police in the begining).

Im all for a revolution in the USA, and I think a lot of people are, even some who probably don't realize it. But there are too many brainwashed people who think things are as good as it can be, and how many times have you heard someone say 'the usa is the best country in the world in spite of it all?" The biggest obstacle is making people see it's bullshit, and that things can be better. And an even bigger obstacle is convincing people it CAN happen, even on this message board i read too often complaints from so called fellow anarchists that they don't believe it ever will or is even possible. With that attitude of course it never will. I'd actually like to see threads on here of suggestions and ideas how to set things in motion, and discussions on that. And if people really don't believe it is possible or whatever, stop posting discouraging words and trying to dissuade people with negativity.Like John Lennon once said, War is over, if you want it.
