Don't lose sleep over it, look to the future rather than dwell on the past. There's a heap of amazing bands popping up all over the world at the moment.

I do understand releasing material that was only available as bootleg prior. There's no reason bootleggers should be making money of their music instead of them. (and a simple bbrowse of the web proves that bootlegs are being sold, and people actually buy them.)

That being said, I will like to hear how these remasters sound when they come out (for free obviously) and then decide if it is just an excuse for money or if the recordings have actually been cleaned up enough to justify being released for cash.

Wow what a joke..... thanks for the link

its really very weak that the old "icons of anarchist punks" are now down to lawsuits to solve their problem, only because they disagree with other ex members on the release of an album.... I can understand how pissed off they must feel about steve ignorant and others selling the album for 20 euros, but resorting to law to solve their problem is really weak

Seriously, crass became bullshit, they totally lost all respect i had from them.

Ivanovich also told me some really nasty stories about them.... i will not talk about it because i'm not sure if he wants me to...

Hmm... Sounds bad, but i wonder how many of the old members are actually implicated - and if it's Steve Ignorant still selling the stuff, i mean, didn't Crass records stop?

everyone is fallible, no one should be put on a pedestal. Crass members are human beings, they will make mistakes amd contradict themselves just as everyone else will.

yes but i could never imagine they would contradict themselves at this point....

crass became a product of consumption, and theyre going to make loads of money over it.... sounds like what they are critizing in "punk is dead"

ok it's official now.... they are going to re-release all the records.... they even have some marketting strategies like putting a symbol on the back of the cd, and you must have the 6 cd to see the whole image.... looks like they're going to make a shitload of money if they re-release all those cd

    Anxiety69:
"best before reissued", i guess that would be the truth :p way better before they reissued it (or at least it sounds like it can be some commercial bullshit afterwards)

This all reminds me of a smiths song of all things...
(a few verses, ill spare u the entire song)

    Re-issue ! Re-package ! Re-package !
    Re-evaluate the songs
    Double-pack with a photograph
Extra Track (and a tacky badge)

But you could have said no
    If you'd wanted to
    You could have walked away
    ...Couldn't you ?

And when it fails to recoup ?
    Well, maybe :
You just haven't earned it yet, baby

i think, like anxiety said earlier, crass is just a band. anarcho music didn't destroy human nature? no surprise there. when has music ever been a force of change? it's the actions that proceed a message that can be considered change, not just the message itself

the best part is, you don't have to buy it! start your own band, make your own art, do things your own way. if i've learned anything from bands like crass, it'd be just that.

wow bullshit and lies, the production costs hasn't gone up how could it happen ?? the production costs always go down as the years goes, it's marketting 101.

£6 per album ??? what a fucking lie.... i can find a place to press for way cheaper in a few seconds.

and even if they really paid £6 per album, then they are still making over 200% profit what a fucking rip off. Crass never made any money when it was alive, and when they made money they gave it to charity... This is a scam. Crass should have stood dead instead of turning it into a money-making-machine. They're going to sell hundreds of hundreds of albums, and even if they sell like only 10,000 mail order then it's still £60,000 profit for them !!!!! Don't forget : it's crass, one of the most known band in the punk scene, they're going to sell a SHITLOAD of albums and they are going to re-release other albums and sell them during years.

    Crass sold out.
