hi all, before i start i know that rage against the machine are a bunch of sell outs. but apart from that what do the community think of there music. i personally think its cool as fuck i like the heavy funk riffs that the band uses and i like the energy the front man gives of.

is there any more bands out there who are not so well known but have the same sort of sound as rage, heavy funk sounding bands with meaningful lyrics !

I used to listen to them, and I still think their music is cool :). That guitar guy is just unbelievable.

Only one band comes into my mind, The Redskins, they play a mixture of soul-funk. Their music is not like the music of RATM, but they have leftist lyrics.

Hey i never liked RATM but Tom Morello's new band isn't bad, he covers classic revolutionary songs like "Solidarity Forever" and "Which side are you on"

Hi thanks for the reply's and music, i only liked the first tom morello song the other ones didn't do nothing for me, and that red skins is well strange (but in a good way :). its got such a groove and bounce to it, skinhead soul is what came to mind. not what i was looking for but defiantly worth a listen.

so there must be a low number of heavy funk sounding bands out there, could be worth making my own :D

    peace all !
