    I joined this forum to download music and now its screaming that I should introduce myself so ig im gonna do that then. I am from Finland and I think uhm punk is cool and stuff. I like a lot of different kinds of bands and Finnish bands are really cool trust me.

    Of course he's a goat! lol. Good reasoning about the resemlence of his beard to that of a goat :). But since you didn't really know I decided to look it up (never my first choice, cos I'd rather talk to real people first) and I got the following (I used google translate to translate it into English):
    "The Finnish name for Santa Claus apparently dates back to the old Finnish tradition of nuuttipukki and kekripukki. Nuuttipukki, who were often young men dressed in goat skins, would go from house to house on Nuuttipukki (January 13, until 1708 January 7) begging for Christmas treats and drinks."
    So now we're all a bit cleverer :D

    Hi Kara :p. I've also not heard of this band. Also did a quick youtube search and the closest hit was an Estonian punk band called Fucktor that had a song called pyromaania. Also no hits on Suomi Punk blogspot.

    Yeah I also found bands with songs with similar names but couldnt find a band named anything related to "pyromania" or "pyromaani" (Like I.F.A. and Selkäsauna) if its Finnish. Can also be just too underground to find anywhere but I think some website should have something idk. I think it might be Selkäsauna's Pyromaani but I cant know

    The first finnish crust band I ever saw was Diaspora in 99. I remember I thought they were really cool, one of them had a long bright red dreadhawk. :) Much, much later I bought a compilation EP where they appeared with a track and I remember I was so underwhelmed hearing them again. I guess it was a combination of "one of the first punk shows I went to" and "being fourteen and quite drunk" that made them extra good the first time, hehe.

    I can see how that band can seem a bit underwhelming but members from that band have also been in bands that I really enjoy like Kansalaistottelemattomuus (singer is Deek Allan from Oi Polloi), Olotila, Pax Americana and Alakulttuurin Kusipäät. I promise they might be good even if you're not 14 and drunk.

    I tried listening to them again last night after writing that post and yeah it's pretty good! And nostalgic! It's fun coming back to bands even later, listening with a (once again) new set of ears. I ordered their cassette and LP this morning. :)

    (Edit: Which also means they'll be uploaded here once they arrive and I've had time to record them onto my PC.)

    (Edit 2: The seller screwed me with the tape, but I'll at least get the LP...)

    Also in Positive Negative. Yeah Pax Americana are pretty cool, they add a saxophone, which doesn't sound bad at all :).

    Also, you mentioned the band Selkäsauna - that's probably the most Finnish word I know, lol (For the benefit of all: it means a spanking, but literally it means Back Sauna, from the tradition of flogging each others' backs with birch twigs in the sauna. Yep) And what a cool name for a band :D

    I feel like it could mean more like just beating than spanking wich is weird because I distinctly remember some older abult telling me a story when I was a kid about when she was a kid her brother accidentally hurt her and got spanked in the sauna and for that and selkä means back so spanking makes a lot of sense but I would associate it more with like just a beating in general.

    That is literally the best shit ever!

    Huh! I really thought the birch twig stuff was just a myth/stereotype! What's the... what's the purpose of that? I can't really imagine going "this is nice, but it could be better if I was somewhat assaulted". :D

    Yeah, I think spanking is maybe too specific - I was gonna say spanking/ hiding - but 'beating' is probably the proper general meaning of the word but which, as far as I know, can include spanking, hiding, thrashing, or caning.

    I'm not judging XD :p

    LOL. No, it's for real. It's good for blood circulation and blood supply to the skin.

    "Hitting with twigs" sounds a bit harsh to what it actually is. You get a big bunch of birch twigs then soak it in water for a while wich makes it a bit "softer". The leaves also make it softer. In the sauna its really nice I promise. Nothing to do with "assaulting"
    Thats probably true, to me it just kinda feels nice idk.
