If it wasn't for the clients, Sex Workers would not be able to make a living from doing what we do.

Put it this way...if you cannot cook to save yourself, you may go and eat at a cafe or get pre-made meals with that logic apply it to sex, if you cannot pick up at a bar or where-ever or if you have no sexual partner and you don't want to get yourself off and you want somebody else to do it with you then you go and pay for a prostitute's services...quite simple.

Sorry to hear about her being taken for a ride by whoever the bastard was. It does happen to some Sex Workers but not all, however those are the stories that you hear more about though because there is a bottom line in the mainstream media to demonise that line of work and I bet you those media people partake in the viewing of porn or strip shows outside of work or maybe they pay for the services of an escort/prostitute. It's the great double standard.

It might be that simple to you, but to me it's not. I don't go pick some guy up at a bar or where ever. I need there to be something more. That doesn't say i've never gotten any or that i need to have a serious relationship first, but i need something more then just a completely meaningless fuck. At least i need to like the guy in some way. So i can't really relate to how simple that is.

Not saying it happens to all sex workers, and how the media portrays anything doesn't effect me much, i don't read the Babylon newspapers and i don't have a tv. That isn't why i don't like the porn industry. Biggest reason not to like it has to be the capitalism, again. If it weren't for that, i don't think so many would do porn, and if it wasn't for the money, the few who might want to do it anyway could do that and not do it for their survival.
In an anarchist society, would you still do it?

i dont know what to believe in this
i've heard that a lot of girls are forced into this with low pay.
so im on the verge of saying that im against it and this is coming from a guy in oregon being bored and wasting all day on porn sites in my early teens

Pornography is about fantasy and there's nothing wrong with fantasy per se; and exploitation is exploitation wherever it is found but pornography is the biggest entertainment market on the globe, bigger than the movie and music and games industries combined.

It's not so much a matter of being for it or against it but perhaps asking why it exists? Why do people turn to it to get off? Why can't they enact their fantasies in real life?

In pornography there's NO SUBSTANCE and for me it is representitive of the failure of our current society. Due to a lack of confidence or the sexual distortion perpetuated by outmoded religious perverts and liberal do-gooders; or the models of 'perfect ' men and women that capitalism represents to young people (leading to machismo, anorexia etc) as well as the abuse perpetuated against women and some men by patrirachial and heterosexual society our relationships with each other are often guarded and there is a considerable element of fear.

Many other people cannot express themselves sexually because they have low self-esteem or because they have weight-problems or are handicapped for example. All of these things prevent sexual expression and in a more open society we might stop looking at each other in terms of product and see each other as the individuals we are - more sex for all!!!

Prostitutes often offer such a service to those who cannot find sexual gratification. They offer substance but often without feeling. Pornography offers a convenience product but can also occasionally be educational but both avenues are open to exploitation despite a shift towards more women taking control. But again taking real life experience and presenting it as product is a reminder of the failure of capitalist society to provide real needs for real people.

Now where'd I put my Obama dildo.....

Yeah that kinda nullifies your point there mate.

Secondly if it is just something you heard then it's heresay but I am NOT denying that some people are forced into the industry...

Thirdly can people seriously also look at more than one gender in the porn debate? There are males, trans people and genderqueers in the industry as well and they all deserve the same amount of attention too.

However there is still the other elements to porn that are not in line with the heterosexist image obsessed bullshit of capitalism; Queer porn, real lesbian porn made by Queer women for Queer women, BDSM/Fetish, plus sized people, older/mature, trans (FtM and MtF)...etc

Also we live in a society where the pseudo-puritan repression hypothesis reigns supreme. Essentially we are still quite prudish to the point that sexual expression becomes distorted (eg marketing g-strings to 'tweens') and sex education is only concerned with hetero-relationships...I never got any education in high school about male-to-male fucking and how to do it safely and what not to use as lubricant and all of that...all I learned was how to prevent unwanted pregnancy as if I was assumed to be hetero.

You say that to a wheelchair bound person who paid for a prostitute's service, there are many prostitutes who would not work with handicapped clients for various reasons but kudos to those that will.

This is true however like all things, education is also open to exploitation.

Oooh you mean he can have his head up somebody else's arse other than his own? :lmao:

Awesome! If you like being a sex worker, that's great. And to think there's been a discussion here on weather or not there would be anyone willing to be a doctor in an anarchist society... If there'll be sex workers, there's no reason to think no one would want to be a doctor. A bit off topic there...

When i mentioned women in the sex industry, i of cause should have also mentioned men, transpersons and all the variations you said. Guess i just wrote women because i am one and the only sex worker i've known is one, so it was what was close to me to relate to. The problems of the industry certainly is not problems only to women.

As far as the sex education goes, i agree it's stupid that it's only about heterosex all the time, but to be honest i as a quite straight woman didn't get much knowledge about sex from the sex education i had eighter, even though i'm sure you had even less use of it. I remember lots of talk about how important condoms are, about aids and about menstruation. About the actual fucking part i think the teacher at some point briefly mentioned the "put penis into vagina"-part, but it doesn't really take a genious to figure that out.
It definately should have been at least as much about other types of sex that it was on straight penetrational sex, not only for those with no intention of ever fucking someone of the opposite sex, but for everyone. To be able to be more open minded we should all know more about how it's actually done, and there's lots of usefull stuff to know about same sex-sex for more or less straight people too...

I don't think all pornography fits neatly into one mold. Some of it is horrible, some of it isn't. I don't have a problem with it, it's just something people use to jack off to.

I'm sure we can all agree that violent movies and music don't turn people into killing machines, so why would porn have any influence on how people act in real life?

so wat if ya a sex worker, empathy goes all round in a society that cares about all, it ain't stupid though just punks 'dum' not dim fun

why do anything that degrades you so much where you have to put down so many others just to feel better

nothing wrong with critism but it shouldn't take over, ever nor shud it be banished but how many 'punks' have you seen hassle others in the st, stupid as fuck and i'm no elitist just dum orrible fux will be killed huha and i like grumpy people, if they're nice, if people wanna fagulate themselves, i don't care just don't impose on my freedom, naa really, many don't know wat freedom means bit like anarchy, don't ya think we shud change that too, it ain't for 'US' or for us to tell others wat to do but it can inspire and humans engage naturally, some r better at it than others but all have a worth, so ir to be human not a commodified fuck(metaphorilcally speaking) now go live it literally, its philosiphy that is usually always at the forefront of freedom, read all about it read all about it!!!! and look around and at yaself
