I tend to label myself as a libertarian socialist because it says a little more about my beliefs than just 'anarchist', particularly to people who have a lot of false preconceptions about anarchism.

Yeah, social libertarian. The word 'anarchist' has far too much baggage, almost as much as the word 'punk'.

Anarchist Without Adjectives

 

Some crude mix of green anarchist and anarchist communist (not green as in the "let's destroy technology" sense more in the "lets make it a present progressive goal to make technology more harmonious with the Earth and while were at it get back in touch with our Earth" sense). My green tendencies tend to fall before my anarchist tendencies but I think the two dimensions (harmony with the earth and anarchy) are peas in a pod

 

I shy away from labels. As my name suggests I am a great fan of Hume and JS Mill, though forgive me if you know something bad about them, I havent' read all their works.

Small or big government? Both I guess. The gov should spread as far as possible in terms of welfare and providing services such as transport, education, health care, but should be as small as possible in terms of prescribing rules and laws. JS Mill argues for liberty of the individual to the farthest extent. I paraphrase: "An individual should be as free to express himself or live his life as possible, until the point where they pose harm to others." Harm to oneself he sees as acceptable.

I differ in that I don't 100% hate capitalism. Of course, the alienation and exploitation of the worker is fucked up, but any other expansive idea is so complicated it suggests an immense bureaucracy which is also disagreeable. I hate its flaws and what it has become and allows itself to become. It could work to general benefit. It never will. It doesn't have to be predatory, dog-eat-dog, the rich prey on the weak. It always will be. Thus I am 100% anti-reality-capitalism.

Unchecked anarchism poses similar problems. There will be assholes in the system who try to use it for their own benefit. but overall, hoping for a general improvement of the human psyche it is the best idea yet. Other than the initial paradiscial notion of communism, which has historically also always failed for the people at the bottom , just like capitalism.

I guess to answer the question, I don't know what I am. I am liberty-minded but not a so-called liberal. In economic terms I just find bad ideas everywhere. My only real conclusion is that strengthening grass-roots civil society is the way to go.

Individualist. I just want a system where people are largely left to do what they will, and don't treat each other like shit. I like plenty of anarchist ideas, but I'll never be a 100% believer.

I know, right? When I say what I believe in, everyone, (conservatives included) say "Fuck yes." But the second I say I'm an anarcho-communist, everyone starts to tell me I'm delusional if I think that that could work. Oh and from conservatives I know well, they'll ask me if I've taken my pills yet today.

 

It's a long thread and I can't be bothered to read it all but just to clarify on the national-bolshevism and national-anarchism part.

National-Anarchism is an "ideology" put forth by x-Third Positionists i.e. fascists) most notably Troy Southgate (also a former British National Front organiser). It is in the words of Spencer Sunshine: a form of crypto-fascism.

As for National-Bolshevism, this is no more than strasserism in new clothes, with the added influence by italian fascist Julius Evola. It is basically a variation of the third position. It's racist and anti-semitic, and throughly totalitarian.

"National Socialism" isn't "Socialism",
Socialism is (generaly) "Everyone is equal"
National Socialism is (generaly) "IF you are one of us, you are equal"

It's kinda like saying you're being social towards everyone,
except those who are different (so not being social to everyone)

So generally, it's the complete opposit of Socialism

 

i identify as an anarchist though i do not believe the world is ready for our way of living yet. what system should we implement for now? shit i dont know. i just know it doesnt make sense to allow some people to live lives of extreme wealth and fortune at the expense of many others' ability to eat. so while a billionaire may enjoy his or her super flashy sports car collection, i just see the direct result, a pile of starving dead babies.
