    Hello everyone,
Thank you for reading this, firstly, cuz its gonna be a real long post, and I see patience as a virtuous trait. Since I'm fairly *new* to the anarcho-punk scene, and honestly anarchism and anarchist philosophies in general, I would really appreciate some general advice and kindness (which I'm grateful is what I've been met with so far) as I'm eager to learn, yet fairly overwhelmed as for where I should start. Coming to this scene has been a fairly unexpected journey for me as a young "baby bat" (new goth also, but I don't like the term baby bat, plus I've been in that scene longer) beginning to listen to some proto punk bands like Velvet Underground and Death. The way I was introduced to my first anarcho-punk band, Crass was well... I guess you could say what felt like an unexpected act of solidarity from a kind stranger. It caught me off guard because I never thought someone would come up to me & reccomend a band. (for context though, I was talking with some librarians about proto punk music prior to this) Unlike most reccomendations I got, I felt immediately compelled to listen to them, so when I got back from the library I decided I would put them on in the background while I added some studs to my battle jacket, that way my bag wouldn't be littered with them. The first song I listened to was "Big A little a", and I'm honestly pretty sure I cried the first time I heard it. (I replayed it quite a few times after, which isn't normal for me) If it's not been made clear enough yet, I am still a youth, one who unfortunately, due to the shittyness of the education system (fucking public school "history" class, am i right?) , and maybe the media's own portrayals of anarchism which I've yet to know many never expected to hear such a phrase as anarchy and peace. I was brought up originally with more leftist views, yet I've always felt out of place within democrats who are against dismantling police and such, and don't want to examine flaws within the way our public schools dumb so much shit down, then except us to decide what we wanna do with our lives the second we're by law; of course, considered adults. And of course, by that they mean jobwise, because under capitalism, that's what apparently all that matters. I guess what I'm trying to say is that everything's finally clicking. Why I always felt it's too rushed, why I can't bring myself to write poems, or in general only to have to be accepted by some publisher who is probably just looking to use my stories as nothing but a gimmick. I am not a gimmick, and art shouldn't have to be either, period. Art is, and has always been to me, a means of storytelling; of free and honest expression that is meant to raise questions and introspection. As of now, in the same library I mentioned, I'm looking to plan an artist's distribution coop in light of this. It's without a doubt still in its planning stages, and its focus is community, solidarity, and revolution through storytelling. Recently, I also have began to learn of Lady Goldman's stories briefly, and she's become quite an inspiration for me. Her free spirited and unapologetic energy really motivates me, & a quote which she said that really stuck with me was "a revolution without dancing is no revolution worth having", which just could not resonate more. In fact, it's 1000% necessary for a revolution to involve dancing to Oi Polloi, in my opinion. Anyways, I wanted to write this post to thank this community of kind and welcoming anarchists for inspiring me to continue writing, fighting against the system, raising my voice, and loving. Also, if anyone knows any anarcho goth/post-punk type artists, please let me know! - Ⓐ/Ⓔ♡
