    It's not sexist if it's not meant to be. I offten use that word to express someones cowerdness. It can be seen like sexist insult, but it doesn't matter - what matters is what it means ( and obviously he didn't want to be a sexist) so calm down, is it sexist to call someone a 'dick' ? Dunno, but I'm sure you wouldn't react the same way you did now.

    Strongly seconded - it's not important how a slur is meant - but very important how it is recepted, using "your" personal interpretation in a foreign language may get you easily in b i g trouble!

    The context he used the slur in was implying that having a vagina makes you weak, or some sort of coward. I get the whole, it's how it's recepted thing, but anyone can take anything in a multitude of different ways. Prejudice slurs are objective, not subjective, so even if a specific person is not offended, it can still do levels of damage to others.

    EDIT*, to snookams, having female genitalia does not make you weak, or a coward, but calling someone a pussy with the intent of implying that they are weak and/or a coward implies that everyone with a vagina is the same. It implies that having a vagina DOES make you weak, and a coward. Same with using "gay" as a synonym as stupid, or using "fag" as a synonym for idiot, etc.
