The DIRA library needs your help now!!!

As you probably know, the DIRA anarchist library opened its doors in 2003 and continues its activities up until today. Since its opening, the library has largely expanded its collection of books, brochures, newspapers, and archives, as well as acquiring numerous audio/visual documents.



With a collection of books on anarchy, anarchist culture, and other related subjects, the library tries hard to make these documents accessible when they otherwise woudn't be.



As well as lending out our books for free, we also hope that the library can be a space for meetings, the organization of events, and a free distribution centre for numerous Montreal anarchist groups.



The library manages to survive without any grants or source of stable revenue. Every month, the members of the collective have to find the revenue necessary to pay the baseline expenses, which amount to roughly $500 for all the bills.



Over the last few months, the library has been behind on its rent payments, and the situation isn't getting better.



We are aware that the activist milieu has already been largely solicited for fundraising for other very important struggles, but without the support of our community, we fear for the DIRA's survival.

We are asking for your financial support by making a donation. Any amount, no matter how big or how small, can help us.
