I don't know about truth but of course it can seem a bit silly from an outsiders' perspective. But that's mostly based on not knowing better. I mean I could argue it's the societal shift towards the right and the new normal state of 'a little bit racist' that's giving off the illusion that the left are cowards and "twats". But that's only scratching the surface. I mean if we take a step back and look at it, the far right isn't giving the establishment the finger, it's giving the poor, the homeless, the refugees and the outcasts the finger. It's easy to be fucking shit up if you're not the one taking the hit afterwards. The less clever racists are merely running the errands of the power. They blame fellow victims of capitalism and the "solution" they want is going to create either more capitalism or pure fascism.

And I believe he's not refering to punks, he's refering to the general left which also includes a lot of people falling for the right wing tricks.

Hm, I don't know about this. I wouldn't compare the two toe to toe since Sid was a 20 year old with nothing to lose that just wanted to provoke everyone in sight, and Lydon is a 68 years old man who's repeatedly expressed conservative opinions (such as no to gay adoption, celebrating the queen and literally voting for Trump).

I'm not so sure if he actually votes for Trump, and if he did at first, whether he would actually vote for him again. I can't find anything definitive about that. It would be very interesting to know. Not trying to defend him or anything (Not talking about what he said about the Queen or anything else, just talking about this subject) but do you think he may just be trying to provoke people again by wearing that MAGA shirt?

Yeah the members of Sex Pistols were always dumb politically. But the difference between Sid and Rotten is that Rotten will actually stand up and defend his support of Trump, while Sid was just doing it to provoke and would have never defended Hitler. Both are still dumbasses though.
