Although "Free Me" is the best song, I don't like them. The reason is very simple - MTV. I can't get them seriously becouse of that.

They have some good points, and very interesting lyrics, I saw one video made on A.L.F website.

    They're commercial and they suck

Althought their engagement for animal liberation is cool.... It's funny, the singer had a FBI raid on his home with the SWAT and helicopters because he was considered as an animal liberation terrorist by the patriot act.... saw that on an interview from an animal liberation from DVD :lmao:

I think they're okay musically, some songs more so that others, I haven't listened to too much but I like Superman and Spokesman. My mates band 'Buck Brothers' supported them.

It's a bill here in the US. Basically one of the most anti-civil liberties bill. Basically strips any 4th amendment right you have if homeland security were to suspect you may a "terrorist"

I did a report on it my junior year. I don't think the laws have changed much since then, but I remember cops could go into your house when you're not home and go through all your belongings and if, for example, your neighbor tells you that they were inside, and you bring it to attention, your neighbor can be incarcerated. "terrorist" is defined in the Patriot Act is any parties who dissent against the government, so just by being on this site, gives homeland security/police a technical "right" to launch an investigation into our lives.

Didn't that fuckwit Quentin Tarintino use a cover-version of Too Drunk to Fuck in a rape scene in one of the Grindhouse movies?

Back on topic, as much as I don't like the band, I feel they do have their place in getting kids into better/more political music, same with the band Strike Anywhere. Sure, they may be on rotation on MTV or Much Music, but songs like Free Me can help inform people about various socio-political issues. Also, Strike Anywhere make at least a few Subhumans and Crass references, which always make me smile, and have led to a couple of my friends getting into those bands.

Goldfinger may be a shite commercial band, but I guarantee at least a few kids got curious about the ALF when they heard `Behind The Mask'.

Yup but i also heard it in many other movies, forgot the names.... A couple of week ago i watched a comedy with songs from Ramones, Dead Kennedys and Sex pistols...

Anyway nothing is surprising since Dead Kennedys appeared in guitar hero

The first album was awesome, used to be one of my favorite bands when it was underground...

The lyrics are very artistical and it is definatly anti-capitalist... at least for the first album

here's the lyrics of what has always been my favorite song from them

Agreed This topic has gone way off course.
They just look like a cross between 'Anti-flag' and 'Green Day'.
Even though they do sing about political issues I'm guessing thier major
listening audience are to distracted by their fashion punx look to pay any
attention to what their trying to say.

yes! i went out and got mutiny on the bay after hearing it, and now i'm here. so i guess there are some positive aspects to mass media.

i'm assuming that is because of manifesto records?
