GG ALLIN

Fuck what othersw think at the moment (had a few beers so any nuance I ever had is gone), I like being the 'people' thinking I'm a weird bastard, it just proves my point that everythign is about superficial shit.
|Anyway, I'm more of a 'party punk' anyway, I mlike getting wasted and shit, but I'll do whatever my mates need when I'm sober and anything I can miss for people I don't know, as long as I get a chance to get to know them.

Well sorry but feces getting thrown at my face would probably make me want to go on a stabbing rampage.

 

I never got into his music or his image. A lot of people in the scene in my town did, though.

 

I gotta side with the detractors on this one. Examining the human urge for self-destruction can make for interesting art, but G. G. Allin did not produce interesting art. He was a junkie and a rapist who produced boring music. There's nothing admirable, honorable or even particularly interesting about what he did. His fans seem to mostly be impressionable male 20-somethings who are looking for something "extreme" with which to impress friends and shock acquaintences.

Also, people complain about "politically correctness" need to take a long hard look at themselves. Racism, sexism and homophobia are still wrong when they aren't clearly marked with swastikas and crosses.

 

I only know of him what my friends have told me - that he advocated rape and stuff. I never looked into him and I avoid punks who wear his patches and badges.

 

I'm pretty sick of hearing bands cover "Bite It, You Scum". G.G. was an idiot. Don't get me wrong, I love naked people, It's the raping that bothers me.

 

I like GG Allin. He is like the original punks - no political correctness, but a hell lot of attitude and something to say.
He was dead crazy though, and i don't like most of the stuff he did, but it made me think, and that i think is an important thing too.
He was around at the right time and right place, to create a debate that i found was interesting. If he did it on purpose or he was just a crazy junkie can be discussed, but it made an impact that made people think.

Fuck GG Allin and anything that he represents! No disrespect to anyone! I just think punk should be more than a child molester junkie trying to make music.

I'm a big fan. Ya, he's the ultimate asshole, but to me he's still an interesting character. Not many people are able to survive like him.

I don't agree that all his music is shit and he had no talent either. Some of it is, but he also has tons of catchy songs, and clever lyrics sometimes. Also his music doesn't all sound the same, he had different styles over the years, and even did country stuff that kicks ass.

 

please give an example of this, as i have never heard anything of any intelligence whatsoever from his pathetic ass.

 

GG ALLIN is a fucking scumbag and his views and sexism and racism was completely wrong but i still think hes an interesting character and alot of his music was bad ass he was a dumb ass but he was a fucking good show

I can't stand GG Allin, he was just obnoxious and his lyrics where stupid as hell. I can see that he was out to shock the world and I can respect that but he just comes off to me as a white trash junkie with irritable bowel syndrome.
