i don't see why this is such a big deal. my friend posted this video on the old fb a few days ago and there were about 18 comments about how it was the worst thing ever, how bad animal cruelty is, et cetera. i knew most of the people who commented, so i responded with something like this:

"none of you actually give half a fuck about animal cruelty. only when its convenient to your western world view. dogs are eaten regularly in parts of the east. how this is any different from a domestic cow being turned upside down, sliced vertically, packaged and distributed is beyond me."

i still stand by my statement, except now i realize the difference. factory farms do this every day, countless times, every year, and escape any sort of criticism. one small group of people does this on one isolated occasion and is torn to shreds in front of the entire internet by "caring" individuals. fuck anybody who claims to care about animal cruelty but doesn't speak out against factory farming and vivisection (no one above me necessarily, but obviously some of my fb pals are totally guilty of this).

but what can we do to stop animal cruelity? in the slaughterhouses?
do you want us to go and piss in the gasoline tanks of farmers to stop it, or liberate cows to roam the fields?
it seems people can point out the problems but not the solutions

I think it is because of the fact that this was just done out of pleasure (there was no meal to come out of this). I remember a couple of videos went round of chickens getting tormented in farms, that got a massive backlash. I think it is when it is possible to see the farmers, people killing the animals deliberately being cruel to the animals and getting some sick twisted pleasure out of it is when it really gets to people. It doesn't help the fact that this video contains dogs which people humanize aaaaaaaaaaaaall the time, plus they are puppies so it just reinforces that whole defenseless feel. I just think that is two of the main reasons for it, the humanization of common household pets and people getting pleasure out of killing basically defenseless animals. No one wants to see creatures they can relate to their own pet that they look after being tortured by someone laughing while they do it. Just my take..

edit: Maybe the only reason people can justify the whole cow thing is that they get their meat in the end. Stupid I know but people always avoid being hypocrites, complaining about the animals being killed for food means they will have to give up their meat in order for their complaints to be valid.

She is from my country. How can people be so stupid. She said that she killed dogs becouse they were bitting people (wtf they had like 2 mounths) and they were spreading disiese. I dont belive this shit.

Neither, if that somehow 'were' the case and there was no hope to cure this disease then why not put them down in a humane way. You can tell from the video she is doing it out of pleasure, come on. She is fucking throwing them higher and laughing about it, she has them squished in a bucket before hand. What a complete twat.

I hate that people on facebook have actually made fan sites for her... as a "visual artist"...
I got noxious when i saw the clip... I felt psychically ill... I even remember a little of a nightmare where i think i saw some of it...

It's that she takes pleasure in it, and that these are so small and harmless...
Of course, i'm a vegetarian and i hate the meat production too, and i even couldn't stand watching "Earthlings" and such documentaries...
Maybe i'm just soft, but stuff like that really makes me feel terrible.

Those facebook groups really makes me lose my faith in humanity.

Urgh, that was horrifying to watch. I don't understand how or why anyone could do this.

I agree about how annoying it is to see people up in arms about videos like this, but completely passive when confronted with the fact that they eat cruelly raised animals. Sure, a cow isn't as cute as a puppy, but that doesn't mean it (or any other creature) deserves to be treated with no respect =/

*shudder* Man, that video is probably going to haunt me for a while >.<

As much as i could need that money, if i would find her i think i'd prefer just throwing her in a river, or any horribly nasty puddle of water. Best get a videocamera in case i would stumble across her, so i can put it up on youtube... "Come here antonia... i've got a cookie for you!"
