I used to like NOFX. They were fun and easy to listen to, but now they just kind of annoy me. I dont really think they sold out, I think they mellowed out. Which in the punk scene, usually loses you some fans. Me being one of them.

Greg Graffin's lyrics are strong, realistic, intellectual and the band as a whole has a style no one can match. Big fan of BR. Anyway, I love NOFX, the decline is such a masterpiece(and many more) ! I can't say I've followed them a lot but they've won a very special place in my heart. Easy to listen, good lyrics, nice gigs and punk-style . 9 out of 10 if I was to rate them.
Misledpunk you got me confused,too. We're on anarchist forum, meaning we deny all forms of authority, meaning we don't support voting. You 'love' a band who has an 'organization' Punk Voter(Fat Mike) and who live like gods. His WC is like a throne.
Not true Bakinca, the decision whether to vote or not is a personal decision and making blanket statements about voting is counter productive. Living life by absolutes is the doctrine of fascists not anarchists. While I do not vote with any illusion that it could bring about an anarchist revolution, I do not have any illusions that protesting in a black bloc would do so either. There are many examples of Anarchist voting structures; the CNT was a syndicalist organization that was based on the democratic rule of thier committees who also employed a delegate system for greater decision making. The FAI was able to influence the overall structure of the CNT due to it's participation in their democratic process. The IWW and OBU also function/ed in a similar manner. Personally, given the choice between a moderately socialist government or a conservative rightwing government I would definately choose the later. At least under the former I may be able to continue to develop the free space we have created at our Cooperative whereas under the latter we would most certainly face persecution. It takes 5 minutes to vote but may take decades to undo the damage one political party can do or worse the genocidal terror they could impose. NOFX and the whole california thing (Op Ivy, Rancid, Dead Kennedy's), on the other hand, were a good in the 80's, they are now a commercial band catering to mall rat punks but they are a good gateway to better bands. Punk is punk, Anarchism is anarchism; while they do over lap you do not need to be one to be the other. Whether you listen to commercial punk or not is a personal choice, if self-identified anarchists choose to judge you on what is a personal decision then that is their lack of understanding of anarchism. There are certain absolutes/ common ideas that we share that identify us as anarchist; free choice is one of them, or at least it used to be.
How can you even compare direct democracy in organizations such as CNT or FAI to todays neoliberalist-democracy. It's not the same, and choosing lesser evil is definitelly not an option in this case. Just to point out, i've been on NOFX concert, and I do have some symapthy for them. I just don't think their place is on this forum, since they support voting and capitalism ( you could say so ), just as Skrewdriver doesn't belong here even though it's punk. NOFX was one of those bands that got you into punk, but then you heard other bands and you stopped listening them. I still listen to songs like "Don't Call Me White" but other than that it's boring.
I agree that parlimentarian democracy and participator democracy are different; the latter more worthy or support than the former however you stated that Anarchists don't vote which is simplistic. The reality is that many Anarchists do vote, we vote without illusions but we still vote. A few years ago here in BC their was a provincial referendum that would have changed our first past the post electoral system to weighted percentage system allowing smaller parties a better chance of being elected as well as requiring a greater percentage of the majority of voters for parties to gain a majority; a good step towards more participatory democracy within our province. Absolutes will never achieve victory only slow evolution has ever brought about the kind of support required for a massive structural change to human social systems. Whenever and wherever there is an opportunity to make a minor change or prevent a step back, it is essential to get involved. I did not see his statement regarding Punk and Christian but again religious positions are personal choices and I support a persons right to make such choices provided that the end result is not oppression or denial of another's right to choose. The spectrum of Christian history reflects both the absolute worst of humanity and some of the best. Just because you claim to be a Christian does not mean you actually are one neither does self-identifying yourself as an Anarchist make you one.
I really like NOFX, and don't think they mellowed out to much the song "We Called It America" off the "Coasters" album which is their newest is just as fast and heavy as some of the old stuff same with "Every Thing In Moderation" off of "Never Trust A Hippy EP" and "Separation Of Church And Skate" off "The War On Errorism" album. I am a huge fan and listen to them on a regular basis and I've watched every episode of "NOFX Backstage Passport" a few times and I think I'm going to continue to be a fan well after the end of their career.
