    El Ayuntamiento de Soria procedió hoy a retirar el busto del general Juan Yagüe ubicado en ‘La Barriada’, “cumpliendo así”, según el alcalde de la ciudad, Carlos Martínez Mínguez, la Ley de la Memoria Histórica. Los operarios municipales plantaron un árbol en el lugar donde ha permanecido la estatua durante 60 años aproximadamente.
    Asimismo, Martínez Mínguez, avanzó que el departamento de Urbanismo realizará un informe con la relación de calles que tienen connotaciones de la Guerra Civil, y añadió que se retirarán todos los vestigios dando cumplimiento a la normativa.
    El busto del general ha sido guardado en el almacén municipal, por si la familia del general quiere retirarlo.
    ‘La barriada’ es uno de los barrios obreros de Soria, donde el general mandó construir varios bloques de casas sociales, al igual que hizo en su pueblo natal San Leonardo de Yagüe. A raíz de esta actuación se colocó un busto en memoria de su mentor.
