Documentary or Movie about travelling musician?

Was wondering if anybody knows of any documentaries out there about travelling musician/s. Not big famous ones as part of a big well funded tour but just getting by in a van or hitching with an acoustic guitar or whatever. Hope you understand what I mean...

and somewhere in the nets is a movie documentation of the travels of a german kraut rock band in the mid-seventies all the way from germany to afghanistan and always getting in touch with local musicians and culture - too bad that i can't remember the name of band/movie right now, but i'll search for it.
sorry for the un-punx stuff, but for some reason the boot boyz seem not to be that mobile...

In 1969 the band was founded by multi instrumentalist Christian Burchard (drums, vibraphone, santur, keyboard) and Edgar Hoffmann (saxophone, flutes). To date more than 400 musicians have played with the collective, some, such as Charlie Mariano, Trilok Gurtu, Ramesh Shotham, Marty Cook, Yuri Parfenov, Allan Praskin, X.Nie, Nick McCarthy, Monty Waters and Mal Waldron, have played on multiple occasions. Longtime members are Edgar Hoffmann (sax,violin) ,Dieter Serfas (drums), Roman Bunka (guitar, oud), Uve Müllrich (bass), Michael Wehmeyer (keyboard), Chris Karrer (guitar, oud, violin, sax), Lothar Stahl (marimba, drums), and Jens Polheide (bass, flute).
With Ton Steine Scherben a. o. founder of the first German independent label Schneeball in 1976.
In 1979 the band started a nine month tour to India by bus, which was documented by the movie "Vagabunden Karawane". Embryo developed from jazzy Krautrock to a world music band, which is able to merge different styles and trends. Many of their albums originated during collective journeys on 4 continents. The band played many festivals around the globe: in India (Mumbai Jazz 1979), England (Reading 1973), Nigeria (Port Harcourt Jazz 1987), Japan (Wakayama 1991) to name a few. In July 2008, Embryo was awarded the German World Music Award RUTH 2008 at the TFF.Rudolstadt Festival.
In 1981, Müllrich and Wehmeyer left Embryo to form "Embryo's Dissidenten" who soon became Dissidenten.

i think "streeetz!" is about the austin/texas scene and not really about travelling.

These were real runaways of society with bandannas tied on their necks. I would describe the whole movie as, 'What if Little Orphan Annie or Tom and Huck all ran away hit the tracks with their dogs and guitars and then five years later they met Charles Bukowski on the street? I think that's where this story BEGINS...'"

miss troll is kinda newbie of the profession, maybe they thought it a good idea to use popular myspace to promote the DVD, i kept on searching for a download - there is nothing to be found, no reviews except on Imdb, maybe it never was shown in public outside of austin.
maybe she is a douchbag, maybe she's selling it to fund the next production, maybe she's just greedy and trying to do business - it's just sad that there isn't anything more to be found than the hippie-legacy ala "vagabound caravan" and little miss troll...
but i'll keep on searching!
