Do people need to get violent to start social and political change?

    I have attended many protests(more so now that the tangerine tyrant is in office) and I feel like it doesnt work. Sure we have the right to speak our minds and gather in the streets and say what we want and to email our legislators about what we think of a bill(which i also have done several times) but they dont actually care enough to listen to their constituents. Money always shouts louder and theyre getting tons of money from the 1% and corporations to keep voting yes and passing bills that harm us all. And nothing we do gets through to them, so it seems to me that violence is the last option to get them to listen. So what do yall think? Is there a better solution for change?

    The biggest issue will be getting enough people together to carry out any effective direct action. Protests are all well and good, but people generally draw the line at violence (even when it's not direct violence: sabotage, burning symbols, etc), so you gotta find enough people that will cross that line to start the ball rolling. This is intentional, our society has been built around alienating people from each other for a while now, for the express purpose of making organization difficult. You could try handing out leaflets at your protests, and starting a group that way, but be wary of infiltration.

    Beware- doomy pessimistic thoughtz ahead:)

    IMO - if everyone came into the streetz & sat down , FOREVER. That should effectively say " We will not keep your cash registers dinging until .....:emoji_cactus:". That would force them into pepper spraying everyone. HaHa.

    FR it is hard to herd sheep that already had a shepard balls deep in..

    i think one thing to try before full on attacks is just a display of power by using the right to carry arms against them. we should have open arms present but be peaceful then if that doesn't work then fuck it

    I believe we should definitely have the means to protect ourselves. I am all about being self-sufficient and neighbors helping neighbors.
    If ICE rolls into your neighbors house and they start zip tying /hauling people out- I don't think calling 911 would help [or they even arrive in time :p]
    So, yes- I am definitely down to protect mi ruka, mi homiez & I.

    Though, I believe open arms would send a doomy, visual message of fear/power/oppression.
