Coming Out Among Friends ans Family?

Most of the people where I live aren't okay w/ my atheism, much less anarchism. Don't think I'll be telling it to anyone any time soon.

But what about everyone else? Does your family kniw about involvement in the anarchist community? What was it like telling them?

I don't feel the need to "come out" about it, personally. I live it (or at least I try my best to), I talk it, I study it. I have a few items with painted on them. I don't deny it, but I don't go out of my way to bring it up, either. People accept me or they don't.

Yeah, I don't really either. However, I can see how something like that would be important to people.

i talk to people about principles, anarchist principles that is, people are more willing to deal and acept those ideas then saying im an anarchits! or aarchy, a good deal of people dont see it as an idea but of chaos! wich is funny cuz monarchist said the same thing about repesentaive democracy, what they said was that it would be ANARCHY! CHAOS!

MUTUAL AID...

you can add others of course and the debates will continue, but i think these are solid ones we can agree on

Yea, I think most people are somehow anarchist deep inside, I guess nobody wants to be a slave, everybody wants to be free. But somehow, the word "anarchy" is bad for them.

Actually, my family background is left of center, so they were sort of OK with it, but we still get into many arguments since they consider themselves socialists, and even Marxists, while I have nothing but contempt for Marx and his writings/philosophies, and they get very upset when I point out all socialist regime changes of the 20th century were instigated, and lead by people who were extremely homophobic.

I am so tempted to show them the lyrics of Bloody Revolutions by Crass just to see the look on their faces.

"Romanticize your heroes. quote from Marx and Mao, but their ideas of freedom are just oppression now...." Ah you know the rest! Sing along everybody!

"Nothing's changed for all the deaths that their ideas created! It's just the same fascistic game but the rules aren't clearly stated......."
