    bullying hmmm.

well as a child i was small and weak (born with a heart defect) so i was teased pretty often up untill the age of about 11. it was then that i moved to a predominantly Asian/Latino community and suddenly found that i was the scary minority (im of african descent) needless to say, institutionalized racism (while terrible and soul sucking) helped in a sense that i was feared.. i was assumed to be a gangster which was about as far off as anything. but it worked in my favor.

my advice to you my friend is to start standing up for yourself. use your wit, bullies are really really very stupid :)

Haha, I used to be bullied until I started to wear more and more alternative clothes,
got an attitude and learned to speak up for myself.

The people who bullied back then try to avoid me,
still afraid I'll take revenge or something...
and nowadays I walk around in 14 eye steel toe boots

I have gotten picked on and in multiple fights, which sucks, because I really dont like fighting.

My parents made me go to "christian" school , and I was picked on for everything about me. My clothes, my beliefs, my politics, my music. I never started the fights, it was always my peers picking on me.

Being a teenager, it made me hate our society and my peers alot more than I already did.

Been picked on through most of the first 18 years of my life in one way or another. What really helped me was wearing a wrist band with 3 inch studs to school XD
They soon stopped picking on me XD

Id say that's exactly right, in middle school i used to be so frustrated with the school board id take it out on anyone who annoyed me, of course after a while i realized with some planning and care i didn't have to resort to picking on the people who were my classmates i could just get back at the school board.

in Australia they tend to enforce school uniform pretty much at every school so it's a lot harder to rely on aesthetic intimidation. Or it was for me anyway. I just threw back some insults, got in a few faces and let them know that they were fuckheads who weren't going to get to me and i only got beaten up 3 or 4 times. i copped a lot of verbal abuse but i dished it back, which tended to work ok. I grew up in a country town where the only measure of masculinity was how well you fought/played football but i got out the other end never having thrown a punch, and i think im all the better for it

From as long as I can remember I had an attitude. People generally did not pick on me because of it.

bullying hasn't been a big deal for me in the last 2 years of school, but before that I was bullied a bit. One time is most memorable, when this kid would keep stealing my bike from me. This was about 9 years ago, so I was 6 then, and he was 10. My Dad and the kids Dad were working on a fence and both told me to hit him if he did it again. Needless to say, he did it again. So I got real angry, picked up a hammer, and hit him with the claw side on the head.He got 5 stitches, I got a spanking, but he didn't take anything from me again.
The moral of my rather long post is, just stand up to the bully, and they won't bully you.

I never liked that rule, the excuse the administration gives is a load of bull, some people look intimidating in (most) anything, all the uniform does is make sure the general population of the school can't use that to get someone else to back off making things difficult for everyone else.

I was never bullied and still aren't, I tend to get along with everyone and I'd never let things go to the point of calling it bullying. Looking back, sadly, in my primary school years and maybe until 2 years ago, I still got along with most of the people, but me and my friends used to pick with some kids. Like there was this one mentally challenged kid who thought that the powerpuff girls were real, along with johnny bravo and etc. so we used to make up cell phone numbers and tell him "we'll call the powerpuff girls if you don't shut up!" and stuff like that...And there was this kid who we gave maybe a bit too much confidence with us, he was like 2 or 3 years younger than us and he came to us, kick us and run away, so once we picked him up, spread his legs and ram him into a tree.

I feel kinda bad and ashamed for being such an asshole, so, I feel like apologyzing to everyone here who was bullied by assholes like me.
    Sorry, guys :(

Yea, I know I were, it was a different time in my life, I was even more of a kid then I am now...Glad I changed school (especially to an artistic school) and met new people, becuase I had the same group of friends since third grade and it was starting to be affect us all in a bad way, we were too united I guess, maybe because we were on a private school and were called "the worst group" by the principal and the teachers, we were always fucking things up and we started smoking pot and cigarrettes together and early, so we were always getting into shit and being bullies didn't help...It was plain idiotic and I feel ashamed of those times because I grew up to be a much more tolerant and less egocentric person...

Interesting you say that the act of bullying made you LESS egocentric. Me being bullied for 18 years actually made me PURELY egocentric (everything revolves around me in my world and I assume that's the same for everyone else). Please remember tho that egocentric and egoistic are two completely different sets of ideas.
And can I just say that I wouldn't actually call what you did bullying if those were the only two examples, Antitude, I would call it making fun of. There was no unprovoked 5-1 beating, there was no stealing of food/clothes/possessions, there was no excluding from the entire group and there was no systematic approach to fuck someone's life up.
Let me put it this way, this is my story, basically: I went to primary school, where I was excluded for being too tall, too smart and too emotional. I got beat up several times and was terrified to go to school and when I got home all my parents had to tell me was that I should toughen up and quit being such a wuss. Then after 8 years in that pisshole I went to secondary school, first three years were about the same and then I was 'only' excluded and made to feel alone (again due to parents' reactions and systematic approaches by bullies). I was on that school for 7 years, due to failing two years and being held back. In that time I made some friends, most of whom simply abandoned me if I fucked up once. There's only one guy that's stuck by me since that time and I've known him for 10 years now, but contact with him is infrequent and basically rare. Then when I finally had some friends at age 18, my best friends slit her wrists over the same fucking shit that happened to me, with daily rape by her step-dad added.
Now THAT I would call bullying. A systematic approach to fuck up someone else's life, isolated incidents as you seem to have done, don't, in my eyes, warrant the name bullying.
