Originally it was a football thing. As scarfs and other obvious football colors were banned in most venues in London, this was devised to serve as an identifier. I would suspect the original meanings were white = tottenham hotspur, blue = chelsea, violet = west ham, red = arsenal and so on... Here the meaning is simple white = nazi, red is usually worn by punk people...

red usually just punks iv never rely looked into meanings of laces we dont rely have any punks or skins hear in Houston(well not in my area)and all the racism comes from dumbass hicks that hate every other race

I've got black laces on my surplus US Army combat boots. Used to have green on my steel toes.

 

It's funny when some racist hick throws some white laces in his boots claiming skinhead and doesn't even know enough to straight lace them.

 

It's funny how white laces have become synonymous with Nazis and racism. I could have sworn white laces started with the two tones and sharps, but when skinheads became a racist movement, they kept the white laces and bastardized them.

 

I assumed it was just because the color clash looked cool. I like the way red laces in black boots looks or black laces in oxblood colored boots.

 

I personally think skinhead music sucks

 

'Skinhead' music covers quite a range - from the original Studio 1 and Jamaican ska / rocksteady / bluebeat sounds, on to 2-Tone and ending up with Oi! / streetpunk. Are you sure you can't find things you like from such a broad swathe? I don't think you've been looking hard enough

 

In Britain in the late 70's early 80's white laces were mean't to be National Front and red laces were British Movement, or so i was told when i got the shit kicked out of me at school for wearing red laces. I see a program about gay Skinheads and coloured laces mean some thing completely different, guess what yellow laces stand for?
