Congrats, man. That's coming up pretty fast. It's rough at first but you get used to it, develop a routine and eventually it becomes normal and you realise there IS still a life to be had. Plus, kids can be entertaining and fun as hell. Just be prepared to not sleep much for a while, and know that you WILL be shit/pissed/puked on at least a few times :lmao:

I basically raised my kid brother when I was a teen (our mom was single and worked at least 2 jobs at any given point-barely able to pay the bills, capitalism at work). He grew up to be a punk because I was when he was growing up and it was just normal in his world. I don't doubt it will be similar with my son.

Dude, chasing this 15 month old kid (who can reach EVERYTHING) around is exhausting :lmao:

His vocabulary is growing, too. It's crazy. He's also starting to like to draw/color, so we have to hide all pens/pencils etc. so we don't find any more surprise pictures.

Just had my son last Saturday the 19th at 9:30 pm.... It's such a joy to hold you're child there, I can't even describe the feeling....

He's very healthy as well something I was really worried about.

I have a twelve year old son who's fast following in my footsteps (he's stopped believing in god, and loves the Levellers and Fugazi), and a three year old daughter. But I don't have much contact with my daughter, and she's already goig down the money loving path her mother has followed.

on that special request, here it is:
that SMILE OF REBELLION at least the youngest by some minutes and because their favorite dad is still with the Poles, the only one that agreed to the picture...

    awww... <3 :ecouteurs: adorable!
Makes me wanna act like the elderly lady next door who pinches their cheeks and who bakes them cookies when the parents aren't around!

I know how much the terrible triplets like the crumble monster, so maybe you could coax the other two into consenting to photos if you promise them uncle butcher will bake them very special cookies:

so thanks all around, somehow it's nice to see the lil'girls charme is working in the international too...
(and i'm still waiting for your part of the bargain, sister hyde... come on, cheating is mean and evil too...)

with the girls picture-strike still going on, i still have to get the photos from our recent croatia/macedonia/bulgaria/greek odyssee back into shape, if i manage this, all the pinchers next door in the world could think twice about putting their weird idea/notion/impertinence into action - some of the photos are depicting the terrific trinity in their aspect as αντάρτισσα - maybe it will support the idea that infringing the girls corporal integrity isn't really wise these days...

and you can't bribe the mothers of all cookies with sumfink special - they already know how to do those incredible addictive almond-cookies-they-do-in-saloniki-but-i-forgot-the-name-of and i only guess that Roland The Raven is still the only source of inspiration and accepted advice in the girls order of being - sorry, ol'pal - but the krümelmonster doesn't work...
(the only response i got showing them the picture was a sore-throat-like "wa-wa-wa-wa cheeky cumby" - but no further consent.

we met Vassils old dad yesterday - first time ever, after almost 20 years of unforgiving silence between this arch-traditional social-democrat working class father and his somehow (please insert a fitting expression) son - who stole RAF-terrorists-wanted-posters from the local cops when he was 14 and... and... and... (and i will tell EVERY little detail, including the story with the african girl and the nudist german-lessons at the river beach - at the slightest indication of/for getting in trouble/a family crisis because i dared to get grandfather and granddaughters together... :ecouteurs: , eh, mr. Black Sheep of the family...)

the old man almost got a heart attack when the girls hopped from the train - and later pulling out the family photo albums, he was showing me why:
my favorite daughters are an almost perfect re-incarnation of their paternal great grand mother, including this rampant mane of auburn hair, the freckles coming out in the sun, maybe even the girls strange eye colour and the shape of their face/skull - sadly there are no childhood pictures of this resolut and for her time really lively silesian farmer woman left, but the obvious resemblance between her and the girls is almost scary...
so maybe the real trouble is still waiting for us - great-grandma not only got into trouble with the nazis during the german occupation of Silesia, she also raised her three sons and a daughter (she "adopted" her on the flight/evacuation westwards 1944) as a single mother in arch-catholic-fugitive-hostile-post-war-bavaria, working her health off as a barmaid while refusing one marriage proposal after the other, stubbornly waiting 30 years for her husband (who got MIA 1943 at Stalingrad...) - i wish i could have met her!

and i wish my stupid and counter-revolutionary-irish-republican-nationalist friend Myra would stop teaching the girls gaelic and telling them those stories about Macha Mong Ruad ("the Red Mane"), the only high-queen of Ireland and still notorious for beating up men at the dozend...
the old "german" Silesians are one of the rare european ethnic groups still providing anthropological evidence for their celtic ancestry, even Vassils old dad started examining the girls back of the head and diagnosed it as dolichocephal (= long skulled) and we had almost a fight about this fascist pseudo-science, finally i got a bit wicked and told him of my mom's "chosen people" madness - guess the old man wasn't that glad to learn of my ancestry... the end of the debate was that typical german "oh, i'm sorry for..."

the girls took no notice of our adult troubles, completely absorbed with playing with the biggest white german sheppard dog we've ever seen - and watching them drove away the tensions, grandpa was allowed to take pictures, guess the girls really broke the old mans heart seriously, he'll visit us here in the coming week and i wonder what will happen if his son is back home again 'till then... :o

:o You're more trouble than the terrible trinity! :p

almond cookies are nowhere near as special as trotsky's ashes cookies, eating one's foe gives you their strength

maybe some krumelmonster music may be more effective....

Ms Apple, are these cute little women in education, yet? I'm just wondering how their independent frame of mind is going to deal with mainstream education or if you have an alternative plan.

Yes, I feel guilty... and I wonder what my favorite apple and admired prosecutor did to get that smile?

Who are those "terrible triplets" ????? I only know of a gang of four...

Seconded, even the worst defetist deserves some warning...

This story is ages old and mostly a make up from my mother after some local rumors and the girl was NEVER NAKED and she was a decent girl too - and the german lessons were just german lessons at the beach...

Seconded in case I will ever find out who this terrible trinity is... As I said before, there is only the gang of four...

    Finally:
I'm on the way home, Roland and I will make good for my absence and maybe I'll get some father/son appointment first, even if I can't say that I'm that happy about this kind of reunion-surprise and butcher may be right but I never said that - just in case of a crisis...

yukk - it's the axis again - boyz united:

...and they probably not only share the same first name (don't ask, i have my sources...), they certainly share the same big bad habit:
making fun of simple and decent girls, those who never complain, only suffer silently, but always keep on walking their way in those new, shiny, steel capped nps-working boots... already red-laced and ready for action...

but this one made me quite a bit worried:
be honest butcher: are you smoking the socialist alternative again? :o :o :o
stop that immediately - or you will turn into something... something quite horrible/even more horribe! :ecouteurs:

no wonder that krümelmonster music hardly got any attention from the half orphans, okay, two of them watched a bit, but quickly turned away and followed their fellow engineer girl to finish some construction work in their room.
and in the afternoon i had to take my acoustic guitar/Myra her banjo with us as we went into the park and i almost managed to learn how to play this reel style - and for that we all will have a fine tortilla dinner this evening: cooked/baked by the terrific-even-while-half-orphaned trinity of the incorruptible mothers of all cookies...

and, mr. black sheep - don't think that i forgot about the gang of four... report for your well deserved punishment!

dunno, i wouldn't call it independent frame - it's rather a fast growing sense of self-consciousness, some of this often for everyone a bit exhausting stage is absolutely age-appropriate - multiplied by three & simultaneously... three is a crowd! :ecouteurs: but there might be some other big ??? too - but i have to have a word with their favorite dad first, before i can write/type in public about this, i really would like to hear some others opinion about the ???

yes, we look for alternatives - but there seem to be neither a needle nor a haystack - public education in germany is a mess and almost a crime, private schools might be a bit better but it's very questionable that we would be able to afford to send all three girls to a waldorff kindergarten and later similiar schools - and i still have some serious problems with their almost esoteric tendencies and the aspect of the girls becoming part of a privileged minority.
i currently discuss the matter with a number of other parents, okay, most of them are at best leftwing liberals and we share not very much except for the fundamental critics: the total lack of support of social competence/ability, the absence of practical/pragmatical talents and the brainwashing abundance of "knowledge" only important untill the next written test and soon forgotten afterwards.

after i lost my job i started again to give "private tuition", mostly for kids with immigration background - it's frightening how they hate school like hell and have obviously no reason to listen to my quite a bit blue-eyed motivational "come on, try it..." - and i guess we will really get into trouble when our girls get old enough for school - a friend of mine compared it with "commanding a butterfly to the airforce" - a bit weird, but somehow... they will not be happy and their already strong stubbornness... and those schools have concrete walls... :o

I'm honest: Right now I'm watching countless soviet documentaries with lots of T-34 rollin' west - and maybe i would try to smoke the S.A. too while doing so - but there was that PURGE... and was even more worse than `36!

... about a spook, currently haunting poor Downunder:
    - member of the WWMCBA (Worldwide Wicked Magyar Celtic Bavarian Axis)
    - obsessed with creepy amphibians and reptiles since childhood
    therefore not really surprising:
    - longtime member of the social democrat youth
    - extremely bad looser and rude as hell, bearing grudges into all eternity
    - hybris of her green party activist dad (still crying all day) - AND:

Spamming the music section of this poor old machine with Exploding White Mice, Hardones, Divinyls (oh, gawd, we have innocent children here! :o )
(need a break, more T-34's necessary...)

Guess my old dad and Camarada Lil will have a veeery busy afternoon:
he invited my favorite persecutor and the terrific youth brigade to visit him - and before they took off, I told the girls about all the kites he was making with me and my brothers when we were kids, and how great they were and how much fun flying kites is... maybe i'll get shot for this in the eve... or those new shiny boots get some action?!
