    Magrudergrind is the shit(before scion got their hands on em'), but i love Godstomper just bass and drums, and they also walk the line between powerviolence and grindcore=grindviolence i guess

    Bent my friend - why not doing all those one liners in just one post... and if it's necessary you can edit a already finished post... it would spare me a lot of scrolling up and down! :ecouteurs:

    I was about to ask about them, myself. Mind you, the only album The Locust did that was powerviolence was thier first (self-titled) album. After that, they really coined their own sound. Still, they're awesome.

    ELASTICDEATH - for the spazz fans;
    CÄTÄRRO - same japan fastcore/thrashcore;
    CHUCK NORRIS(CHICO NOISE AFTER) - same japan fastcore/thrashcore;

    Crossed out, early Hellnation, Suppression 7", Denak crazy Madrid mad grinders, Evolved To obliteration 7", Ulcerrhoea are absolutely brutal, Squash Bowels, Laceration, Agents Of Satan, Nailed Down Violent Distortion LP, Eucharist ST LP, Corrosive from Germany were fucking crazy, The Misanthropists had an awesome 7", Spazz pretty much ripped power violence apart, No Comment Downsided 7", Lana Dagales 7" was fucking cool, Infest even though I have a really hard time calling them power violence but we'll just say they were one the best bands to ever.

    I had to add in STAPLED SHUT. I don't think they got nearly as much recognition and appreciation as they should for such an awesome power violence band

    I like Spazz, Magrudergrind, and acXdc. I was disappointed when I missed magrudergrind and acXdc, luckily I'm going to see acXdc in a few weeks for 5 bucks so I'm not to sad about it.

    Sludgy-PowerViolence?

    I started listening to a band called The Endless Blockade. Sounds like PowerViolence with a sludge metal undertone. Does anyone know of any similar artist who have some how incorporated the slow, sludgy, bass sound with the fast, mind numbing, sound of PV?

    Re: Sludgy-PowerViolence?

    The only band I can think of off the top of my head right now is Weekend Nachos. They're a sludgy hardcore/powerviolence band. They kind of go from a heavily Infest-influenced sound, to some slow songs and breakdowns.

    Here's one of my personal favourite songs of theirs. It has great lyrics too, which I'd imagine most anarchists would like.

    I find some of their lyrics a little hit-or-miss though. Their earlier stuff was somewhat political, but their newer stuff is way too negative for my liking.

    Ive never really been a huge powerviolence fan, i think alot of that has to do with that where i live thats pretty much all their is. every show, every local band. all the time people start a powerviolenceish band with some pop culture reference or the name of an actor as a name, play a show or two and stop. the cycle repeats again and again and im hella burnt out on it you know? I do however love fast hardcore that could be like "proto-powerviolence" like siege, larm, the fisrt asocial recordings, rapt, heresy etc etc

    I'm such a huge fan of powerviolence. I practically can't get enough of it. It's a bummer that it's just so hard to acquire albums by a lot of the classic bands (Spazz, Infest, Crossed Out and so on)

    Although my city (Ottawa, Canada) barely has a powerviolence scene at all, there has been a few amazing powerviolence/thrashcore bands here.

    My personal favourite local band here, and actually one of my absolute favourite bands, is The Donner Party. Check them out, I think they're amazing. Most of their lyrics are fairly political too. http://thedonnerparty.bandcamp.com/albu ... sly-though. If anyone wants any of their lyrics, I have most of them typed up on my computer.

    Another amazing band (who are no longer around though) are Take One for the Team. They're basically a Spazz-worship band. Not overly original, but still amazing.

    I recently started a political fast hardcore/powerviolence/thrash band, although we're still in the earliest stages of the band. It's sounding kind of Capitalist Casualties-ish so far. I'm excited. We'll see how it goes.
