Like it or not, Anarchism is one tendency within the broader umbrella of Socialist thought. The most simple idea being that economic matters need to be controlled democratically. Whilst there are varying, and competing, tendencies within socialism(s), it is false to classify Anarchism as anything other than libertarian Socialism(s). This obviously puts us in conflict with authoritarian Socialism(s)- Marxist-Leninist, Trotskyist, Maoist, et al... We share a severe distaste for authoritarian expression of socialist/communist politics, however, I, and anarchists more broadly, critique these expressions from the left. Who taught you to fish? Who taught you to speak so you could understand the person teaching you to fish? Who made the rod and line with which you fish? Who washes your clothes whilst your fishing?
