THIS! I collect assistance because I'd rather see the money go to someone who needs it (myself who is disabled) rather than to a bunch of corrupt cops and politicians. Tax dollars are better spent on the people rather than pigs and suits.

It seems hypocritical to me to be on welfare and to call yourself an anarchist, it's saying fuck off to your parents and leaving, then a week later coming back and asking for $100 so you can go back out and repeat the same thing a week later....but they aren't your parents and you're taking money out of the working classes pockets

The money would be taken either way, it's better used on people, than cops and politicians. If you're suggesting tax dollars go towards police and politicians instead of helping your fellow man, I feel sorry for you.

Yes, exactly, unemployed people (a majority of whom are working-class by the way) steal money from the "employed" working-class. :/

You are not really into class unity, are you? And the parallel between being on the dole and getting pocket money from mommy is so illuminating it changed my whole worldview. Thanks.

    Of course they fucking do.
Ah they're just repeating everything the politicians say to cover up the fact that most of their budgets are wasted on the military and the royal families(and bailing out banks), I just find all these arguments really stale and overused. Unless anyone can come up with an argument that hasn't been used since the late 70s, I remain unconvinced that an anarchist on welfare is not an anarchist.

    All hail the levitating one!

A note on lifestylism; I had a discussion on this with a friend, I still haven't met any though(I have heard of them and am looking forward to experiencing one irl).
There are a lot of contradictions within the movement.
Its always fun to pick at them, but in the end its up to the ones that are aware of it to "fight" it, ignore it, and keep up the good work. If you can't kick it into their skulls, ignore them and keep kicking elsewhere.
Its sad that some do have bad experiences when they do join meetings or go to squats because they're met with the same prejudice they would get anywhere else, because they don't meet up to the "real" ones standards. Its fucking bullshit. You'd think they grew out of that phase after 10th grade.
    Ah well.

I think a point from this argument is that there's a difference between organizing for anarchism and organizing for the apocalypse. I don't think that the dismantling of corporate authority implies hardship as the system crashes. In fact, that's essentially the state's argument for its own existence. I don't think that this is anyone's point here, I know it's not kad budu's. I think your main point is simply that is self reliance is the pillar of freedom and anarchist society must function in harmony with nature. And I agree with that, I measure my achievement by how self reliant I am. But this is always something you learn from others and as such community is all the more necessary. I don't think an anarchist society can be faultless if it's not in harmony with nature on at least some level. In that sense, I don't think that self reliance is a struggle against nature or against ourselves. If personal autonomy is a struggle, it's only because the state has made it so. A self reliant community of people who watch out for and take care of one another, sometimes through some form of welfare, is what anarchism means to me. That since the state does everything in its power to destroy or polarize community.
On a personal front, I have a young sibling who couldn't survive without medical support, currently provided by the system. They could eventually come to live without medical support but not now, and I reckon until then there's no way I could organize for an apocalypse. Family first and all. But there's no reason to not believe that those who need medical support couldn't be receive it without authority. But that's another long long debate I figure.

On welfare, I figure if the government takes my tax money and uses it to kill non-anglos all over the word, I have an obligation to take as much as I can and use it to feed myself and those close to me. In an anarchist society, there would be no dole but there would still be people taking care of people. Way more so than in a capitalist society, obviously, that tries to discourage any help that doesn't come from the state. So in a capitalist society, why shouldn't everyone take as much of the dole as they can for their own personal use? I don't believe that being an anarchist and taking out welfare is biting the hand that feeds, it can be more subversive than that. I don't see how the state benefits from someone taking their money and using it to feed themselves.

Also NomadicAnarchy, quit trolling, you sound like an angry drunk.

it would be nice if this could work but unfortunately its not so simple. i said already that state would never be so stupid to leave any kind of exit in its own realm of power. the only way out is to build something new and economically independent. all the rest is supporting state whatever it looks like (and many of that really looks like it can do something against the state but its all traps).

NomadicA i do not agree with you completely when it comes about our "views".I agree when you say a bunch of people with their own definitions of anarchy, but i ve read your posts and they make sense to me(not the ones with insults,i think you can do better than that)but those on learning it yourself(experience through life). Some of your views and conclusions are acceptable to me and it would be a shame not to try to learn and comprehend them. That way i improve myself. No man has been born smart. We're just human beings and we learn through others and through our mistake.

About the topic...i dunno i've never recived welfare, although i work on the list from time to time, but it's mostly off the list(better pay). It's not easy task to live like anarchist, vegan in place(or country)where money, stale traditions and living to expectations is everything, unless you're somekind chickhenshit conmformist and your parents do all the dirty work for you(that way anyone can be "anarchist")..i know some guys from Switzerland that lives on welfare, living in a squats and traveling a lot with that money, but the catch is every 2 weeks they check on you, but they say it's no big deal for them and it's small price for liberty they have

im about to sign on the dole (job seekers allowance) for the first time and its making me feel deprest and angry as im going back on my own beliefes. i feel as if i need to get up and go and fuck society of and go live in a forest somewhere far away from this capatilism hell. i understand we pretty much need money in this fucked up world to survive which is depressing but there are people out there who live of the land and we have done for thousands of years. one day soon i WILL live free from the system and live simple but happy in a place where trade and personal skills are the only currancy, but untill that day i will strugle and fight my way through this shit hole. i am determined not to die in this society.

i think that welfare is a good thing and something we can learn from capitalism that is actually is a good thing, i believe in an anarchist society via mutual aid we should have an instution like this, however i do like ripping the rich people off when doing this and i enjoy rich people complain about their money going to a good cause :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You're not letting yourself down, you're trying to survive. There is a big difference. Besides, there is nothing wrong with getting welfare, doesn't make you less of an anarchist.
