I don't believe in tolerance towards intolerance.

What surprises me if what Phelps has never been prosecuted for beating up his children, interrupting people's funerals and such? Why isn't that guy years in jail? Is he that rich?

Yeah i saw that... But i mean, there's been several documentations of his kids being beat up and him and his followers pushing and breaking into private property etc. doing funerals.
Just passing a law so that they can't go as close is not really much of a punishment

4chan actually had a decent idea on possibly how to deal with these monsters.
Dress up in a nice, business-business casual attire, wear a mask, any mask, or anything to block your face, if you opt out of the mask make sure you can keep a very straight face, get a suitcase, and gather as many people as you can, all decked out in the same attire, and go stand around them, right next to them, anything. Try your hardest not to move, talk or anything. Just stand there.
It may possibly intimidate them into making some sort of physical motion against you. But still stand completly still. I don't remember what to do after that, if they assulted you in any way, because I left that thread, but I believe just stand right next to them, and have somebody filming it and if they assult you to report it. Try to get their right to "protest" completly removed.



That, or if they touch you in any form, I'd say just take their signs, light them on fire, then throw them back at them.

Either one works.

 

Anything going on in England or anybody know of any organisations? Keep trying to trawl the net but no luck, bar this site, which is damn frustrating but it is a start. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

it says homosexuality is wrong in the bible. i think he is choosing a rather minuscule aspect of the bible to focus all of his efforts on. i don't the new testament even says anything about homosexuality (i have read it but not in a long time). for a religion that follows jesus, chrisitanity sure is good at focusing on the old testament when it comes to hate and ignoring parts of jesus' teachings when it comes to forgiveness, acceptance and love.

There's a documentary about the anti gay christian view called "For The Bible Tells Me So"

Its pretty enlightening and will probably piss you off to no end.

There's also another documentary about the mormon church's secret campaign against gay rights in california which will also make your blood boil. It also talks about the insane amount of homeless young teens in Utah who's parents kicked them to the curb once they came out.

and yea I think Fred Phelps needs to eat shit and die as soon as possible. His followers came to my town last year to protest the funeral of a marine that died in iraq. They think that god is killing american soldiers because of rampant homosexuality in the US. I've never heard anything more ludicrous in my life.
