I'm not sure there's really much to "Debate" per se, but, if anybody watched the news today, (And I wouldn't blame you if you didn't) The U.S. Congress have decided to IMPEACH DONALD TRUMP!

Things are really going to be interesting all the way through the holiday season right into next year.

Just a fair warning to the U.S. users of this site: If Trump is found guilty of the crimes he is accused of, and is removed from office, we'll be stuck with Mike Pence, and if you thought Trump was a mean old poopy head, well, you aint seen NOTHING yet!

For starters, when Mike Pence was the Governor of Indiana, he passed a "Religious Tolerance" bill which gave businesses the right to refuse service to anybody based on religious beliefs/convictions.

It's almost enough to make one register to vote and campaign for the Democratic presidential candidate. (I said ALMOST, although if Elizabeth Warren actually gets on the ballot.........)

It's no surprise really, given the Democrat majority. Nor will it be a surprise when the Republican majority in the senate lets him off. He'll still be president until the 2020 election. At best, the impeachment has given the Democrat's a stick to belt him with during the next election campaign. It may sway some voters but won't touch the sides of his core supporter's, the MAGA crowd and evangelicals.

I can see him running in 2020 but doubt he'll serve the full term if he wins. Rather, having delivered another Republican presidency, he'll step down [due to "ill health" or some other bs] relatively early on, and let some creature from the black lagoon of the Republican's take over, so as to prepare for 2024.

If Americans don't want another 4 years of GOP christian fascism, then they'll have to hold their collective noses, register and vote Democrat, regardless of who is on the ticket. Then the task will be to hold the flames to that governments feet so that you don't gt a repeat of the obomber cop out.

I pissed myself laughing when I heard the words socialist and Democrat being used in the same sentence by Republicans during the debate. Reminded me strongly of an arch conservative Premier here in oz, who was always banging on about the "socialists in Canberra", who were actually dismantling social democracy in favour of neoliberalism.
