Okay so I'm 16 years old and I go to very conservative school where no one is very nice. But recently I was put in a program made to help me handle my mental health, and inside that class there is a teacher who is very against everything I do. She hates my hair, my (lack of) religion, how loud my boots are, everything. Well one day I went in to that class because my boyfriend was having a major mental breakdown and I was concerned and she told me that that's what I get for "choosing" to like men. I tried to tell her that that isn't how it works and she told me that "god" made everyone straight and I was going against his plan. What the fuck do I even say to that? What would y'all say to that? I'm so confused.

Ask her if she is also irate about interracial dating. Or tell her she is a pervert for being so preoccupied with other people's love lives. Or take the passive-aggressive approach and tell her that she is such a good, loving christian.

Seriously, I can't tell you what to say since I don't know your situation at that school, or if there are things that you say or do that can make things worse. What are you confused about? That there are evil people in this world like your teacher? She sounds like a piece of shit.

honestly at this point it might just be best to fuck with her, mock her in conversation or spit on her shoes.
those sorts of people cant be won over with pleasant debate, but an act of defiance might plant the seed in their head that they are wrong.

File a complaint. Disparaging a student's sexuality is against Title IX regulations.

There's gonna be people who are assholes in this world but all you really can do is ignore her or if you wanna take action in a peaceful way and you don't care for the class just skip it

Wow, where to start. I guess you're based in the States.

I AM a teacher, in fact I'm now in management, and IMNVHO, that teacher should be dismissed, and if she worked for me, she would be.

A good teacher needs to be inclusive of all of their students regardless of sexuality, religion (or lack of), race or whatever.

Try to find someone else to talk to, and depending on your school, you may be able to report her.

Who is this lady to say what 'gods plan' is? Trying to interpret any form of power above human understanding seems like a waste of time to me.

My advice to you is to transfer schools if that is possible. I don't know you personally, your home life, or your family situation. Are your parents religious? Christian? Conservative? Right wing? If you answered yes to any of these, and if you're under eighteen (18) years of age, then, legally there's not too much you can do except possibly discreetly find a support group and/or like minded people behind their backs, as much as your situation allows.

The U.S. psychiatric community has debunked the theory of so called "Conversion therapy" and has concluded that "Praying away the gay" not only does NOT work, but has lead many young people to commit suicide! It does NOT work, and, with very few exceptions does NOT change a person's sexual identity or orientation. The type of religious based rhetoric that your teacher is shoving down your throat is DANGEROUS, and, in fact, religious conversion therapy has actually been OUTLAWED in many states in the U.S.

AND DON'T TRUST ANYBODY THAT TELLS YOU THEIR BOOK OF RELIGION IS INFALLIBLE! BELIVE IN YOURSELF, AND THINK FOR YOURSELF!

HANG IN THERE! (And be proud of who you are!)

This is coming from someone who has been in a similar situation as you and I know how much that shit can fucking hurt. That being said however I know that there is at least 21 states in the USA that prohibits discrimination towards sexual and/or gender orientation. I understand that you're in a conservative school and that reporting her homophobia isn't an option for you but reporting her other actions could be possible.
Her being this way towards you is unacceptable ESPECIALLY given the fact that you're in her class due to mental health, she is massively out of line and she needs to be reported. You can maybe request to be transferred from her class (if it's a possibility).
If talking about the matter to you're family isn't an option I would recommend finding a reliable media outlet to bring light to the issue (media attention, even if you are anonymous and don't give names, can lead to your school cracking down on discrimination due to social pressure).
Overall, I want you to remember that you are not alone and take it from me, as repeated as the phrase is, shit gets better. You will get through this.
