You don't have to see conclusive evidence of evolution you ARE conclusive evidence of evolution and your pseudoscience has proven you to be no better to me than one who would detest gravity.

Evolutionary theory lies within HOW evolution happens however it is indisputable that evolution is occurent. Plus evolution is a wildly broad term. To say "I dont belive in evolution" is like saying "I don't like indie music." it's almost incomprehensibly general.

Ok, i don't believe in darwin's theories to a t. I do not believe we were ever primates, I believe the evovultion we may have gone through was more minimal then the general theories and such.

I don't remember saying anything that we should pray in schools (i believe in seperation of church and state) or that I believe in the christian theory of creation. I'm not sure what exactly i believe, but i do not believe we were monkeys... frankly i don't really care where we came from or how we got here, there is enough to worry about with war, pollution, and other dillemas that anarcho punks are more sensitive to then a lot of others...

Global warming is a scare tactic, when people are scared, they will do WHATEVER to fix it, like throwing away money to make themselves "green", throwing it all away to big business who are capitalising off of the "movement"

Just a little comic for those looking for a laugh within the Creation/Evolution debate going on. It's in good fun, don't get those knickers in a knot anyone.

As for this green discussion. Lets all remember back to those three R's we were all taught back when we were kids. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. So much focus these days is being put on recycle. Yeah, of course recycle, but reduction and the reusing of purchased objects should be the main focus upon peoples minds. The issue is broken into two sections: 1) reduce - we're (I'm guessing since we're all here on computers and internet that a majority of this community is living in a developed country) living in a society that focuses on material objects and consumerism. We've all grown up being taught that the person who owns the most when they die wins at this game we call life, and humanity had become accustomed to a lot of the objects we purchase. Not everyone is like that, but the large majority of the population is, and this causes the reduction of consumption to be very difficult. 2) Corportations and the suppliers of these objects will hound us to death with the message to "recycle", pure and simple it gives them great PR Image, but none of them will hound us and spend billions annually to reduce. Since capitalist economics, sell sell sell, you don't sell by telling people not to buy.

The issue with "green" products is their net green impact. Most green products claim to be better for the environment, but thats only looking at the final stage in its life. Laws aren't regulated enough to enforce corporations to tell the real truth with the product they are selling. Yes one object may be better for the environment than another in its final stage, but what about getting to that stage? and what about when you have to dispose of this product? Corporations are not being required to look at the net impact their product has on the environment. A truly sustainable product will be healthy for the environment in its resource extraction, production, transportation, use, and disposal. An example of this is the new "ecofriendly" Tide Cold Water Wash. The final product is saving you energy and thus helping the environment because you don't need the heat water to clean your clothes. But what they don't tell you is the chemicals used in the cleaning of your clothing in the cold water are actually not better for the environment, and require more energy to actually create than saved in the washing stage.

Now some of you may complain about these "green" products as being a money scam by corporations, and yes "going green" is a phase this world is going through. People in general are NOT going to change their belief system into that of Anarcho-punk.net overnight though, they aren't going to become freegans, dumpster divers, anti-consumerists. They will continue consuming at a terrible rate, so why not create these actually green products which are sustainable to the world and aren't going to rape the land. Some people are in this capitalist system and creating products which are better for the world then others. The capitalist system keeps on turning, but the world benefits just a little and it continues to turn for a little while longer.

I'm sorry if this has already been said but has anybody given any thought into maybe a lot of the push into carbon reduction and all that bullshit is a slap in the face to developing nations...kinda like saying "No, you people cannot have industry and machinery, how dare you try to advance yourselves, we are the ones to do this at your expense!"

I dunno but also these scientists are bloody morons. I don't believe in global warming as of such, I believe in climate change...it has been getting cooler for the last 10 fucking years and the weather is becoming more unpredictable (like it ever was in the first place). The earth has been through harsher climates than this.

There was a massive hoo-har about the ozone hole getting bigger and how bad that was going to affect the warming of the earth and the melting of Antarctica but recently and article in The Age (Melbourne based Newspaper in Australia) has said that the ozone hole is getting smaller and as a result will heat up Antarctica!!! What the fuck is wrong with these morons?

When we are sitting around freezing our bollocks off over the next 10-15 years I am going to laugh my arse off at the dickhead scientists who lead us to believe that we are warming up.

Have a listen to this bullshit radio interview...

The climate change lobbyist is a fucking tool and the sceptic used to be an advisor of some sort to Thatcher (who by the way started the idea of global warming).

    http://blogs.abc.net.au/victoria/2010/0 ... group.html

And read the comments below after hearing the webcast.

I don't know Queerpunk, not to contradict you but my father used to work with Jaques Cousteau and he was talking about radical climate change in the late 60's early 70's before Thatcher. I dont know how many people took him at his word back then but as a little boy he sure got my attention...scared the fuck out of me when he would lecture about the Polar caps melting etc.

Back to scientists... During the last week the first hearing in history of WHO took place. Probably some of you already know about it but maybe not everyone, so i thought i'd bring it up here. It was about the status of pandemy for the swineflu, and there are going to be another hearing in march and maybe one in june.
Anyway, it's now clear that WHO knew all along the flu was not such big risk as they wanted it to seem like, and that they had worked with medical companies that wants to sell more shots. One of the companies they had worked with is Baxter, the very same company that "by accident" let a birdflu virus out from their laboratory in Austria.
Now countries all over Europe are trying to get rid of all the unwanted doses of vaccin they bought with money that could have been spent on much better things. For example, France bought 94 millions of doses but has only used five million doses.
A clear case of "Fuck scientists acting like 'god'".
