Hey so ive always been antiauthoritarian and a pacifist i get shit on alot especially these days. I get told that being egalitarian is a pipe dream and that im implicit in the doings of others . Just want to talk history, literature and the arts with like minded people .im recently homeless becuase of an apartment fire. My friendss came togeather to help me get new tattoo equipment i didnt want the charity as its hard for me to accept . So i figured give me a tool i can use to help my self and make the world more beautiful at the same time. Anyways ive been living in a hotel and meeting allsorts of people from all over the world races sexs classes and ive releanred one thing , everyone suffers albiet differently even your worst enemy.

I'd be really curious to hear you about how pacifism could have stopped the white supremacists in Charlottesville

    Hey :)

Sucks to hear that your apartment burned down...do you at least receive some insurance money or something like that, so you can find a new home soon?

I think pacifism has it's place, but there are some issues that only merciless violence can solve...nazis, for example. Talking to them won't solve anything.
    But I understand your pacifism.

So good luck with new apartment and your tattooing :)

I am not myself a pacifist in the classical sense of the word, have been Antifa for most of my life. I do consider myself a peace punk though which honestly just means I try to keep things non-violent until my life or my compañer@s lives are in direct danger. I've worked alongside Quakers in Food Not Bombs, and have great admiration for them and respect their beliefs and for the most part have been respected in turn. Recently the controversy has heated up with all the direct fascist threat, but I have always been of the opinion that a multiplicity of tactics is the best way forward. We need pacifists, and pacifists need us. Having said all that, there are a lot of fake pacifists and a lot of fake Antifa. Non-violent confrontation and protest only work if the participants are willing to put their lives on the line, antifascism only works if you are willing to confront, doesn't work too great sitting in a comfy chair tap tap tapping on your keyboard. My 2 pennies worth...
