I'm here to talk about censorship in our everyday lives.

Today I was told not to say the word "FUCK" (especially in public)

It seems oppressive to tell someone they CAN NOT express their feelings in the they desire. Censorship is around us all the time.

Music has the PMRC And other companies of similar oppression

Movies with the long list in each country ( here are just a few examples) The United States: MPAA. Australia: ACB. Brazil:The project "Memory of Censorship in Brazilian Cinema (and so on)

Society also likes to censor our opinions and ideas by calling them "outrageous", "extreme" or "radical". They ostracise people who don't have they same lifestyles or ideals.

with compassion and understanding we can get from under This hate and ignorance.

Feel free to add anything here..

    Thanks

We don't fix anything by keeping it hidden, "offensive" or not.

I was recently told that the slimy weasels in human resources where I work noticed my hairstyle (after 4 months of working there), and it's "inappropriate". I have to grow it out. Who the fuck has the right to tell me what I should do with my own scalp? Fucking ridiculous.

My manager told me not to wear my kilt to work, lol. I think it's a situation like my beard, in which she tells me to trim it every once and a while because she's supposed to, and then I ignore her. Then she can say she tried, and her boss lays off of her for a nice long while. I'm too valuable to get punished for this shit, anyways. Dysfunctional workplaces have their benefits.
So I just wear it when she's not coming in, so she can pretend she doesn't know it happens. That way she doesn't have to save her ass, if that's what's going on. I can't wear it on nights that we get the delivery truck, anyways. I am not crawling up into those dirty trailers in my 99-dollar kilt that is a pain in the ass to clean and dry. I'll wear it in front of her again sometime, just to make sure this is the case. She could actually be serious, I don't know. If she tries to push it, I'll just claim discrimination. (I'm very Scottish-American). It conforms to the dress code perfectly, save that it's not pants. And she didn't have a problem with it before a week or two ago. She doesn't have a leg to stand on.

It's not like I'm submitting to her. I don't like to wear it every day, it makes using the restroom complicated and it's a little big on me. Even before she tried to crack down I'd only wear it about half of the time. Still, I feel the urge to wear it 40 hours a week just to spite her.

40 hours of kilt a week are 40 hours well spent.

There's something that I keep wondering about... why do people feel a need to control others.
