Hey, I'm just getting back up from a loooong hiatus in lost Angeles, where for years I was a street preacher, and protester of society in general in the entertainment capital.. What fun it was, I must admit. I did about four years total locked up, but spent eleven years squatting, writing and burning up the streets. Fucking hipsters there...
Glad to be back home in northern ca close to the bay. I'm going to be getting back to work real quick and would love to meet some down folks here online at this site.. Also could use references to other sites and forums...
So thanks for checking this post out and I'll be dabbling with this to try to get the hang of it.. Wanna get involved in some music, as well as discussions or what have you.

Hey man, I'm pretty new here too.
I used to live in San Mateo. I miss the bay like crazy. Me and my friends would always bum around Haight street. I saw some of my best shows at Slims and a place called El Balazo Art Gallery (I think it has a different name now).
I'm also in a shithole of hipsters... Austin, Texas. My yuppie douchebag meeter is off the charts! (Though I have a friend from LA and she says it's worse there, haha).
I also did some time (only a year). The prison culture is the most depressing shit I've ever seen, man. The complete ignorance is really sad. But what's worse are the fucking 50 year old crackheads who all of a sudden find jesus and talk about him non-fucking-stop.
Anyway, good to meet you man, I'm Jim.

What's up, Jim! Man, you certainly hit all the "perks" about being locked up, especially the moral failures! Once they get released, the bible goes into the gutter along with any sanity they may have gained off the crack!
So, I bet Texas is tough . I know you miss the bay. I'm sure they have some kind of functions there, though. Keep your eyes peeled, also this site is good about answering up if you have inquiries.
I miss bumming around, but as an artist at this point all I can do is conform as little as possible and stay tapped into my stable sources here where I grew up. I'm back in school now and I see why I'm so mad and pissed, it's a bunch of brainwash, unfortunately a necessary evil. But I'm taking it easy and expanding my bands I like and hope to get lucky enough to get into one eventually. I like to write. Well hit me up, I'll put you as a friend we can message there or here, but it's cool to communicate with cats from Cali. Stay strong, man, don't let em get to you in the wrong way!

haha yeah. I was in a prison rehab program (they sent me to prison for a 9 month program because I had a drug problem and they wanted to give me a chance before they threw the book at me). It never fails that the guys who talk all day about how they are gonna stay clean and go to meetings everyday are the first ones to fall off.
Texas sucks alot. Austin used to be pretty cool when I moved here 6 years ago, but it's really turned into a yuppie/hipster pretension party.
I'm in community college right now (taking my last class for an associates) and I get just the opposite vibe. My astronomy teacher was talking the other day about how fucked up it is that we are destroying the planet and he encouraged all of us to aspire to make a change in the world as we get older. He said the main purpose of college is to teach younger people about all the things in the world they need to change as they grow up (history is another example). That sucks you're getting the "government approved" version of college. What are you studying?
