I just wanted to know your opinions on weddings. I just can't understand how somebody says they are anarchists, but then need the state for sealing their relationship? How does that make sense?

I must look that up, because I don't know if it has any benefits here :D.
Bad thing is when they decide they don't wanna be together anymore (and it happens a lot, especially between young people)...and if they have kid, the biggest fun of his/her life begins...

I married my (then) girlfriend so that she could get German residency. South Africa was at war with Angola at the time and we both left South Africa to go live in Germany to avoid myself getting drafted into the army. I don't believe in marriage but this was a marriage of convenience. The extra benefits were just a bonus :ecouteurs:
We got divorced after 2 years.

We were dressed in black for our wedding and it was an otherwise very colourful crowd at the registrar's office :D

A wedding, really, is just the recognition by the state (and god i guess) that you and another person are together, and then you get tax breaks and what not.

I personally dont see what's wrong with two people coming together and saying that they want to be together, but a wedding and marriage are just an artificial construct created to (historically) make someone someone elses property.

Another thing to consider is that marriage has certain benefits for the child, including things like child support, citizenship and inheritance, although probably to a lesser degree nowadays than in the old days. Of course inheritance of an estate is not an issue for an anarchist, and nationality?...well, it could very well be an issue considering how many people are fleeing their countries. In certain countries including the US, I think, it's the father's nationality which gets passed on to the (ligitimate) child, if I'm not mistaken. So in certain circumstances one has to use it for the benefits.

As an anarchist I would never get married I'm against everything that that ritual and the building it is in represents. it represents the killing and mind control of populations the repression of women and hate towards gay people.
we want real love, real love that is bigger than therechurch built on centuries of hateand oppression.
real brainwashed christians believe that you can't be spiritual and you can't really love without jesus / god in your heart. But these are deep human traits from the begining of human expierience, majick that we all pocess we don't need there permission, we don't need there blackmail of you must keep a heirachy happy in order to live a nice life.

Blissful Myth by Rudimentary Peni and Berkertex Bribe by Crass convey my outlook on marriage quite articulately.
