I've never found that to be true...though I mostly listen to "Stenchcore" and other more explicitly Metallic and non-Hardcore sounding Crust. I do find i really weird how some people will call any Crust band a Hardcore band though...like if you're talking about a band like Skitsystem I can see why the term "Hardcore" makes sense, but apparently one of the top tags for Agrimonia on Last.FM is "Hardcore", and Agrimonia are about as far from Hardcore as you can get...

Sounds like this whole "Neo-Crust"/"Dark Hardcore" thing...I can see why a band like them would classify themselves as Hardcore; that kinda stuff doesn't really sound super "Crusty" to me anyways, though obviously there is D-Beat/Crust in the mix...

Also, parts of that sample in the beginning are used in the first song of the Political Terror (Raw anarchist Black Metal) demo I posted in the downloads like yesterday.

Well, I could go on forever...So much great music, so little time...

About the whole HC vs. Crust topic, I thinks it has a lot to do with, what people think as crust. If you go thru the last three pages in this treat, there's a lot of bands listet, that I personally wouldn't describe as crust, since to me it's more on the HC/anarcho punk side (Aus Rotten, Detestation, contravene and so on), and I'm sure I as well listet som bands that are to much on the neo-crust/Dark HC side to be categorizes as "real" Crust to some people. That's always the thing with this Metal/punk umbrella. Threr's so many diffent styles of both metal and punk theese days, that it's getting harder and harder to describe what kind of music a band plays. Crust, metalcore, sludge, grindcore, screamo...There all part of the same family, but the all sounds very different, and they all apply to af different crowd, with diffent believes and ideas.

Here in Denmark, there's a new scene on the rise at the moment, that mostly focus on fast and brutal music. New bands popping up all the time, and people you've only met at more "commercial" shows all of a sudden plays brutal crust, and share the stage with metalcore and grind bands. Crazy shit!

Damn! Where is the love for Consume? Wartorn? Or Scatha? I suppose Spitboy isn't very Crust but Adrienne's vocals are. The woman could make keys with her screams.

    But yeah, all of those.
    Anyways,

    Aus-Rotten
    His Hero Is Gone
    Appalachian Terror Unit
    Skitsystem
    Hellbastard
    Deviated Instinct
Gallhammer, I guess. Kinda sorta just barely crust.

I guess most Crust bands play the music, but don't live the life, and maybe they don't want to be attached to the stigma and myths surrounding being crust.
