Maybe technically, yes, but today patriotism is linked to right wings and most patriots are right wing. Either that or they claim to be apolitical when in fact they share beliefs with many extremist right wings. I came by this forum where a couple of "punks" talked about white pride and how they`re not racist but "proud of their colour". Its such a joke. I really hope that won`t catch on among the younger ones. They even have a "white pride worldwide" group. Freedom of speech is all good and well, but your freedom stops where it exceeds others freedom. Thats just how it is to live in a society, you have to take others into consideration. Nothing good ever comes out of patriotism. Being born white, american, italian, indian, whatever, is nothing to take pride in. That is no accomplishment in my eyes. Also off-topic, but the meanings of words and symbols change. It doesn`t matter what the swastika meant or which way it used to look, fact is that most associate it with nazism and you will probably get a lot of shit for getting it tattooed on your arm. Stop doing that, seriously. Its obviously just to shock people. Same goes for patriotism, might have started out as an innocent thing(haha, hardly), but its not a good word anymore. Oh and to hell with condemned 84. Too bad they`re assholes, they could have been an alright band.
One of my friends is a fan of this band (he knows I'm an anarcho-communist, we get along great), he even agrees there's some sketchy stuff concerning them (he's a big oi fan that's why he likes these guys). I've noticed alot of their gig posters (seen some pics online) are extremely degrading to women. My friend said their overly patriotic lyrics attract a right-wing crowd which often contain nazis, so even if the band themselves aren't nazis, they're stll heavily associated with nazism.
Yeah, I think the only reason bands like this never give you a clear answer on their political stance is because they'd lose 90% of their fanbase.
It's true, I'm sure if they were open about it my friend wouldn't be into these guys since he even said RAC is dodgy as fuck.
Fine if you don't like C84, but that bullshit flyer is fake, Condemned 84 never played that show, and were never booked at the show, which I don't even think ever took place. Also the band Intimidation 1 who's also on the flyer broke up nearly 10 years ago, and I doubt that End Apathy is still around after Wade Michael Page got killed Anyway here's what C84 has to say about it : So the dirty internet warriors are at it again !!
