    Boa noite (good night) everyone!

First of all, i beg your pardon about my english. It's encrusted with rust due to the lack of practise.

Well lets start from the begginning: Im from Brazil, born in a mid-class family and early son of this now-known Y Generation. I was raised on a small and usual apartment building with a poor fucking health, no money, almost no friends and little-to-none contact with the outside world outside of books and mags. My first contact with Punk was when i was around 12, with my first album from Ramones. This was something around 1999, 2000 if my memory's straight.

With the more contact i was having with punk-rock, more and more i came in contact with the most basic and mainstream concepts of anarchy. A couple of lessons on Philosophy put me in contact with the rudiments and basic theories. such as freedom from state, political power and from any external influence upon the human nature. On the history classes i learned about the huge role spanish and italian anarchists had on the development of the first trade unions in Brazil around the 1900s. From that time, i thought it was enough to consider myself a sympathizer. Years passed, and i finally graduated in journalism here. Without connecting the dots, i've somehow always stood for the anarchist values of self-management and total autonomy from political or economical groups during college, always standing for the true independence of my profession at the service of nothing but the people and its interest. In these same years of jornalism college, i dwelled deep on the problems of Brazillian society (and, more strongly, of my city, São Paulo): institucionalized police brutality, rampant housing deficit, social and racial prejudice rooted at an almost cultural level and a deep rooted fascist legacy left by 30 years of military dictatorship. In those same years i also came in contact with the Straight-Edge Hardcore scene on São Paulo, strong addepts of the "No Gods - No Masters" point of view that helped me put all of this together, although never converting me to the whole "vegan" side of the force.

Cut to last year, when things finally blown out in Brazil, the "MENACE" painted by the local media moguls wore black, covered their faces with black shirts. The Black Blocs. While everyone went in with the flow, they made me think. In the same streak, i discovered that some older friends of college and journalism were deep into the anarcho-punk movements in São Paulo on the mid-80's, and that they took part on the first black bloc protests in Sao Paulo on the 2000s, against the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) proposal and against the public transport fee raises around 2007. Thats when i finally made the bridge between philosophy, Direct Action, self-management and, above all, the need of action by the people and for the people at a level that no left-oriented political party could go without losing their political influence.

Thru these guys, i came in contact with the squatters movement in my city, that were organized with help from the libertarian movements, the slagging groups that try to reveal the identities of old torturers from the regime, the free-pass movements that managed to positively STOP Brazil on July last year. Even with some minor personal disagreements on how the local movements put the Direct Action thing into practice, i definatelly took their side. To top it off, one of my friends - a bad-ass photojournalist and old-school crust punk - introduced me to Conflict and Doom and a father of a friend lent me a big book about the origins of the entire socialist philosophy - including the anarchism. And here i am, trying to learn more and more about anarchy, more about anarcho-punk and more about the world around me.

Well... Hello everybody! I hope We can all get some awesome and friendly talks about the nature of all things punk, crust, social and about the whole fucking world as we know it.

    Salut!
