hey there... so yeah, i'm a gay punk who lives in tucson, az. pretty excited to have found this place as i dont have access to any other anarcho-punk resources.

i am 32 and grew up in a homophobic, oppressive environment. however my parents also spoiled me materially. so i've grown up with this strange dichotomy of materially getting just about anything i wanted, but at the same time being hated and unloved for my existence. i guess i achieved this by always lying about my sexuality to friends and family, and not expressing myself, out of fear. being spoiled pacified me immensely unfortunately. but on a larger scale that is what these huge corporations do to us too with all the pretty entertainment. so i've been breaking down those walls more and rising up... kinda regret not getting to it when i was younger though as i am incredibly lonely now.

so, while i'm not too disadvantaged financially or economically or whatever, i have a deep desire for social change. i do not support our corporatocracy government and i'm a war tax resister and i hate oppression! i'm into environmental activism too, but i support a lot of different organizations out there. however, i would like to get into more radical things because change is coming way too slow! i see the issues facing all oppressed peoples but my focus is on the LGBTQ and my local communities now.

as far as music is concerned, i like just about everything out there as long as it's loud, fast, and offensive! but i also like folk punk too. would like to find more anti-homophobic stuff...

if there are any other LGBTQ punks on here, give me a holla. would be cool to make some friends. would be awesome to meet some others in tucson too, so if you're out there hit me up so we can meet up for a drink or something sometime!

found this zine just a bit ago... http://zinelibrary.info/toward-queerest-insurrection-0

oh ya i'm furry too, and as you can see my fursona is a lion :3

Hey Scar thanks for posting, so I hear Toxic Shock is no more as of tonight and that is mighty sad for Tucson punks queer or otherwise...have you ever thought of moving out of Tucson? Might not seem viable but maybe it is something you should consider, Diatribe's new bass player is a proudly queer punk and a good friend of mine besides I can send you a link to his info if you'd like maybe he can be a friend...PM me

yeah well it figures! that's all i get these days is disappointment! :p hopefully they will re-open in a new location. there used to an anarchist collective here too but it closed before i could get involved... another regret to add to my list. no moving from tucson is not something i want to do... i am from this city and, as much as i am disappointed by it, i can't abandon it like everyone else does. if i leave then what about all the others here? they have one less to rely on; i need to stay for the sake of others.

    also hey there StegoSaurus rawr

sometines its easy to leave ones place and go to where everyone is at, or where there are all ready anarchists projects happening on all sorts of scale, but its all so amazing and probably more rewarding to start organizing where you are, how many people do you need to start something?

    one?

yeah one but i'm not sure what to do... decades of homophobia really messed with my confidence.... it's better to have a group first in my opinion. but a group only gets formed from the will of individuals.... so yeah i'm kinda starting something by joining places like this and reaching out. but as far as what other actions to take, i'm not sure yet... i've just started to volunteer once/week in an LGBT youth center and i've noticed some cool kids there that might be interesting, need to figure out what to say to them n stuff...
